Specialty Coordinator

Reporting to the Nurse Manager, this position , under the supervision of an R.N., assists physicians and nurses in preparing for surgery and during surgical procedures; and performs related duties as required.Current CPR certification required. (American Heart Association only)Previous Surgical Technician or OB Tech experience in an acute care setting is preferred.Six months operating room experience with a completion of formal Surgical Tech. Training Programs preferred.One year recent experience as a unit secretary preferred.Completion of Terminology Course preferred.Prior computer experience highly desirable. Requirement for Surgical Tech II in the Operating Room: One year of experience and Surgical Tech Certification (CST) required. Requirement for Surgical Tech II in the GI Lab: Two years of experience and a GI Certification (SGNA in lieu of a CST) required.
