Job Details Job Location: Upper School - San Jose, CA Position Type: Staff Salary Range: Undisclosed DescriptionThe Harker School seeks a Head Girls Varsity Lacrosse Coach for Upper School Athletic Program. The season begins February, 2026 and runs through May, 2026.Expected Hourly Range: $20.00 - $25.00Position SummaryOur coaches must be committed to the personal development of our student-athletes. This includes teaching them skills relating to the sport. As a coach you must also help students develop a competitive nature, teach them about ethical behavior, good sportsmanship, and assist in the development of leadership and life skills.QualificationsQualificationsAt least 18 years of age.Experience working with children preferred. Must be comfortable working with and around school-age children.First Aid/CPR certified1 to 2 years coaching experience (preferred)Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssumes the responsibility for safely and effectively managing groups of studentsOrganizes practice plans and game plansCommunicates effectively with AD, other staff, students and parentsStays informed regarding weekly sports emails, updated developments and changesFollows all guidelines as expressed in Upper School Coaches HandbookCompletes miscellaneous tasks and duties as requestedOther Duties and ResponsibilitiesAttends coaches meetings and mandatory seasonal parent meetingsEnsures students are participating in a fair and sportsmanlike mannerEnsures safety and decorum of students while traveling to away gamesMaintains knowledge of league, section, and state bylaws pertaining to their sportProvides guideance for middle and/or lower school programs where applicableAssumes responsibility for related duties as required or assignedKnowledge, Skill & Ability RequirementsCoaching students (Ages 13-19)Experience in or having a background in the sport interested in coachingWorking ConditionsMay be subject to extended periods of time standing or walking.Majority of time may be spent outside resulting in exposure to extremes in either heat or cold as weather and temperatures vary.Our Mission:Our mission is to educate students for success at college and beyond, and to foster kindness, respect, and integrity within a safe and nurturing environment.
