This senior-level role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys taking ownership of their work, from concept through completion. You'll play a key role in shaping project direction, offering strategic input, and guiding engineering teams through complex challenges with confidence and clarity.We're looking for someone who brings not only technical expertise in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, but also the ability to mentor junior staff, contribute to quality control efforts, and keep both internal teams and clients informed throughout the project lifecycle. If you're someone who enjoys balancing hands-on design work with team leadership and project oversight, we'd love to connect.Responsibilities:Project Design for Site DevelopmentGrading and Drainage PlansUtility Systems for Water and SewerReport Preparation and Master Planning Studies, preparation of specifications and cost estimatesProject Management Assistance: Budgeting, Schedules, Client Care, InvoicingDesign Team collaboration, and supportRoadway/Streets final design package - Plan, Profile, Cross SectionsRoadway Design: Streetscape, Green Streets, Bicycle Path PlansKnowledge of Federal, State, City and County StandardsReport Preparation and Conceptual Studiespreparation of Specifications and Quantity Takeoffs/Cost EstimatesRequirements6+ years of experience in site development, design of residential and/or commercial subdivisions, utility systems, roadways, and public worksB.S in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET Accredited Curriculum or equivalent requiredProfessional Engineering license in the State of Oregon or California is highly preferredAutoCAD and Civil 3D mastery requiredPhysical Demands: Must be able to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 20 pounds with accommodations.Work Conditions: Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting. Exposure to high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Travel to other BKF locations and client sites may be required.BenefitsThe typical base salary range for this position is 103,000 - $140,000 annualized depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
