Join to apply for the APP - Neurosurgery (CPT) role at Luminis Health6 days ago Be among the first 25 applicantsJoin to apply for the APP - Neurosurgery (CPT) role at Luminis HealthGet AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.Title: Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (APP) – NeurosurgeryPosition ObjectiveUnder the direction and supervision of the physician staff of the Division of Neurosurgery the APP will perform all required clinical duties, including patient evaluation and management in the preoperative, perioperative, postoperative, and outpatient settings as well as performing ICU bedside procedures.Essential Job DutiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functionsWorks collaboratively with clinical teams in managing Neurosurgery patients in the pre-operative, peri-operative, post-operative, and outpatient environments.Collects data pertinent to the patient’s health and situation including interpreting diagnostic tests and procedures relevant to the patient’s status, and assists with surgical procedures.Formulate a treatment plan for Neurological problems within scope of practice. Implement therapeutic intervention for specific conditions when appropriate. Exercise judgment on problems requiring consultation, referral, or evaluation by the supervising Neurosurgeon, or other health care pares and contrasts clinical findings, normal and abnormal variations in formulating a diagnosis. Identifies assessment, diagnostic strategies, and therapeutic interventions within the plan that reflect current evidence, including data, research, literature and expert clinical knowledge; collaborates with physician on the plan as needed.Cares directly for clients and helps manage complex patients. Promotes patient engagement by explaining treatment plan, identifying and addressing any expected obstacles.Participates in group call duties, including night and weekend coverageParticipates in the quality and patient satisfaction review process, incorporating feedback into improvement plans and associated quality forums. Uses quality data to enhance effectiveness of care delivery.Uses current health care research findings and other evidence to expand clinical knowledge, and enhance role performance and increase knowledge of professional issuesEducational/Experience RequirementsGraduate of accredited Physician Assistant School or graduate of an accredited school of nursing as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.Neurosurgical or Surgical clinical experience as a PA or ACNP.Required License/CertificationsCurrent License as a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.Working Conditions, Equipment, Physical DemandsThere is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position will be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.Physical DemandsThe physical demands and work environment described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.
