Business Development Leader - Digital Health VerticalCooley is seeking a Business Development Leaderto join the Marketing & Business Development team to support the Digital Health practice.Position summary: The Business Development Leader works closely with the Associate Director of Business Development to execute on the team plan.The Business Development Leader is expected to also work closely with shared analyst resources to provide timely and insightful reporting that supports and enhances the team plan. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Position responsibilities:Develop advanced knowledge of the startup and venture ecosystem and how the services of the firm benefit and relate to the industryUse data to monitor, evaluate, develop and prioritize prospects and leadsBuild a pipeline of targets, then actively and strategically pursue these targetsMonitor client activity and identify points of engagement with clients that add valueEstablish credibility and build communities with internal and external stakeholdersRepresent the firm at various in-market events, conferences, and other networking activitiesKeep abreast of broader market trendsMaintain knowledge about the department as well as points of intersection with other departmentsWork between the various internal systems to decipher opportunity status, relationship mapping, and qualify a prospectCollaborate closely with practice group, regional and core marketing teamsIdentify areas for continued process improvement and efficiency by generating innovative ideas and solutionsAll other duties as assigned or requiredSkills and experience:Required:Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, as requiredAbility to travel, as required5+ years directly applicable experience in the fieldFamiliarity with the startup and venture industryExperience in sales, including inbound and outbound strategiesPreferred:Bachelor's degreePrior legal industry experienceCompetencies:Ability to balance time, and focus across multiple projects as neededDisplay a solution-oriented approach including being able to look at data points and transform information into actionable insights and reportsAble to balance the needs of multiple stakeholders at the same timePromote an environment that supports cohesive, effective, and respectful working relationshipsCooley offers a competitive compensation and excellent benefits package and is committed to fair and equitable employment practices. EOE.The expected annual pay range for this position is $195,000 - $235,000. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.We offer a full range of elective benefits including medical, health savings account (with applicable medical plan), dental, vision, health and/or dependent care flexible spending accounts, pre-tax commuter benefits, life insurance, AD&D, long-term care coverage, backup care for children and/or adults and other parental support benefits.
