This role involves managing the estimation process for various projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in cost assessments, and collaborating with other departments to support project planning and execution. Additionally, the individual will also be responsible for reviewing and supporting change orders from construction.Role Responsibilities:Lead and manage a team of 6-8 estimators, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunitiesOversee the preparation of detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labor, and equipmentEnsure that all estimates are accurate, comprehensive, and aligned with project requirements and company standardsCollaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and ensure that estimates are based on the most current dataReview and analyze historical data and trends to improve the accuracy and reliability of future estimatesDevelop and implement standardized estimation processes and tools to enhance efficiency and consistencyMonitor and report on the performance of the estimation team, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as neededStay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in estimation techniques and toolsFoster a collaborative and positive work environment, encouraging teamwork and open communication within the estimation team and with other departmentsJob Requirements and Experiences:Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related fieldMinimum 15 years experience in civil estimating, including a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or leadership capacityKnowledge of environmental and safety policies and proceduresAbility and willingness to travel to and from job sites as assignedStrong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationshipsDemonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables spaceExcellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and TeamsStrong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlinesStrong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverablesAbility to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a teamMotivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilitiesProven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgroundsResponds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachableIs detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business conceptsThis role requires being hybrid 3x a week in either our Chicago, IL or Austin, TX offices.Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $180,000 - $220,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations.
