Director, Senior Counsel, Commercial & CorporateScopely is seeking an experienced and strategic Director, Senior Counsel, CommercialCorporate to join our dynamic legal team. This individual will lead a high-performing,multinational team of lawyers responsible for Scopely’s global commercial contracting andcorporate governance. You will play a key role in supporting Scopely’s growth and operations,advising stakeholders at all levels, and overseeing complex legal work with strategic businessimpact.What you will do:Leadership & ManagementLead and develop a global team of commercial & corporate lawyersFoster collaboration and consistency across international offices and time zonesCommercial ContractingOversee, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial agreements —from day-to-day procurement to high-stakes licensing deals for critical software powering Scopely’s gaming platformsProvide legal and strategic counsel to cross-functional teams (Procurement,Finance, IT, Game teams, etc.) to mitigate risk while enabling business goalsEnsure alignment of contracts with Scopely’s business strategy, risk profile, and legal standardsCorporate Governance & ComplianceDirect the maintenance and compliance of Scopely’s domestic and foreign legal entitiesEnsure timely and accurate filings, resolutions, and board governancedocumentation in coordination with outside counsel and internal teamsSupport intercompany agreements and internal stakeholders with respect toglobal subsidiary managementLead efforts to source and implement legal technology focusing on innovative AI tools to scale with the company’s growthDrive continuous improvement, in partnership with Legal Operations and other internal stakeholders, in end-to-end contract creation and management using contract lifecycle management tools (such as Ironclad)What you will needJ.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar (California preferred)5+ years of legal experience, with a strong emphasis on complex commercial transactions and corporate governance2+ years of management experience managing lawyers, ideally both U.S. and non-U.S. lawyersDemonstrated success in fast-paced, high-growth environments — ideally in gaming, technology, entertainment, or similar industriesPlease ensure that the résumé/CV you attach is written in English.For candidates in CA, CO, NJ, NY, and WA, the annual salary range is provided below.
