This role is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight to the Demand Planning team, ensuring accurate demand forecasting and seamless execution of demand planning processes across our global operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in demand forecasting and supply chain management, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to lead and develop talent. The Director, Demand Planning will be critical in shaping and optimizing our demand planning capabilities as we build out our global operations, partnering closely with Finance, GTM, Product, and Supply Chain teams to translate market insights and product vision into actionable demand forecasts that drive our business growth.This is a hybrid role based out of our San Francisco office with the expectation to be onsite 2 - 3 days per week.What You will do:Leadership and Team ManagementLead and manage a team of demand planners across multiple channels and geographic marketsDevelop and mentor direct reports through coaching, performance management, and career development planningEstablish team goals, KPIs, and performance metrics aligned with organizational objectivesFoster a culture of continuous improvement and analytical excellence within the demand planning organizationLead cross-functional collaboration with GTM teams, Marketing, Product, Finance, and Supply Chain teamsPresent demand planning insights and recommendations to executive leadershipCollaboration and Strategic DevelopmentLead cross-functional content creation for S&OP meetings with executive stakeholders, driving consensus on demand forecasts and inventory strategies across multiple product lines and geographic marketsFacilitate monthly S&OP discussions, presenting demand scenarios and business risks to C-level executives, resulting in improved forecast accuracy and strategic decision-makingSpearhead benchmarking initiatives for new country and retailer launches to establish baseline forecasts and go-to-market strategiesPartner with marketing teams on promotional planning and new product launch forecastingWork with GTM teams to develop and enhance demand planning inputsWork with product management and GTM teams on lifecycle planning and phase-in/phase-out strategiesInventory OptimizationMonitor and adjust Sell Thru/Sell In forecasts to optimize channel terface with the overall supply chain and GTM teams to resolve or highlight supply/demand related business risks & opportunities.Monitor, adjust and allocate supplies to improve Delivery and Channel Inventory Metrics.Develop and enhance allocation process, in collaboration with GTM teams.Channel Level ReportingDevelop and improve forecast reports and executive dashboardsBuild, manage and refine reporting tools, such as Tableau and Google Sheets.Report on and manage demand trends + channel level inventory guidance for demand channels.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance forecast accuracy and process efficiencyDevelop and maintain KPIs/metrics for demand planning performanceEstablish governance processes for forecast accuracy measurement and improvementRequirementsWe would love to have you on our team, if you have:10+ years of specific demand/merchandise planning experience in the Hardware and/or Retail industries, with 2-4 years in a similar leadership role and capacity.Proven track record of building and leading high-performing demand planning teamsStrong executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex demand scenarios to C-level stakeholdersExperience developing and implementing demand planning strategies for global organizationsStrong preference for experience working with top tier retailers to create a comprehensive sales plan.Experience managing and working with demand planning tools (eg. Anaplan, etc.)Knowledge of Integrated Business Planning and S&OP processesFluency with Microsoft Excel and or Google SheetsStrong business acumen and proven ability to act as trusted advisor to business partners including cross functional Senior Leadership.Ability to articulate and navigate relationships with people at all levels of an organization across multiple functions.Curious lateral thinker able to see and understand the big picture while willing and able to deep dive to understand trends to formulate insights.Ability to travel (domestic and international) 10% of the timeBenefitsAt Oura, we care about you and your well-being. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions.
