To learn more, visit SummaryBlue Owl is seeking a Vice President to join its SEC & Financial Reporting Team. This role will be based in Short Hills, NJ and reports to the head of SEC and Financial Reporting.ResponsibilitiesAssist in the preparation and review of the Company’s external financial reporting process, including quarterly and annual reporting (Form 10-Q/K, Form 8-K, proxy statement, and other SEC filings as required), ensuring the highest degree of quality with timely deliverablesAssist in the preparation and review of quarterly earnings and management reporting materials, including Audit Committee and Board meeting materialsAssist in the preparation and review of AUM data, disclosure checklists, disclosure committee materials and statutory financial statementsCoordinate amongst various groups to facilitate an efficient close and reporting processWork closely and develop strong working relationships within the team, finance/accounting group and other internal departments, including product fund accounting, platform, legal and compliance, corporate development, investor operations, marketing and investor relations teamsProactive effort to help identify gaps in current reporting process and participate in the implementation of new controls and strategic solutions, improving processes, resolving inefficiencies and documenting tasksEnsure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and maintain policies and proceduresMonitor and interpret changes in accounting standards and regulations and assess their impact on financial reporting and complianceAssist with quarterly review / annual audit requestsSupport cross functional projectsQualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or FinanceCPA required, big four experience preferred7+ years of relevant professional experience working on SEC / financial reporting, preferably in the financial services industry / alternative asset manager space with a mix of public accounting experienceStrong understanding of U.S. GAAP and SEC rulesAdvanced excel skills required, SQL or other programming language / database experience a plusStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsHighest level of ethics and integrityDemonstrated drive for results and ability to prioritize risks and projects to focus on what’s important in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environmentExcellent planning and organization skills; meticulous attention to detail is a mustStrong work ethic and willingness to roll up sleeves to get things doneExcellent interpersonal skills, including oral and written communicationWork Independently and in a team environment with an intellectual curiosity to learn moreExperience working with Workiva a plusExperience working with Oracle or other general ledger systems, including processing journal entries, a plusAdvanced MS PowerPoint skills a plusBlue Owl is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
