Join to apply for the Senior Propulsion Design Engineer role at Impulse Space3 months ago Be among the first 25 applicantsJoin to apply for the Senior Propulsion Design Engineer role at Impulse SpaceCompensation: $140,000 - $180,000 / yearDepartment: Propulsion EngineeringLocation: Redondo BeachCompensation: $140,000 - $180,000 / yearDescriptionAs a Sr. Propulsion Design Engineer at Impulse Space you will own all aspects of propulsion component design from concept to product realization, while working closely with a fast-paced, agile team that strives to make a high-performance spacecraft from a clean sheet design.ResponsibilitiesDesign propulsion system valves and actuatorsOwn all aspects of component design from concept to product realizationLayout complex and highly integrated fluid and mechanical systemsGenerate detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawingsPerform fluid, thermal, and structural analysis as requiredWork with the team and external sources to procure materials, fabricate parts, and complete assembliesResolve technical issues with innovative and resourceful solutionsMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering or related field6+ years of experience with flight propulsion components including cryogenic, high-pressure, and high performance applications6+ years of hands-on experience working with fluid, electrical and mechanical systemsDemonstrated proficiency in CAD software with ability to learn new software toolsDemonstrated ability in requirements definition, conceptual design, procurement, fabrication, assembly and testing of hardwarePreferred Skills and ExperienceExperience designing and delivering high reliability, high performance hardwareExperience with in-space propulsion componentsExperience with Siemens NXStrong project management skills and effective communication of technical concepts across multi-disciplinary teamsExperience in a startup or agile development environmentAdditional Requirements:Flexible schedule and willing to travel as neededAdditional Information:Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
