Director, Facilities & Space Planning

Overview We are seeking an experienced Director of Space Planning to lead strategic space allocation, planning, and design within a large, dynamic healthcare organization. This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient and cost-effective use of facilities, managing capital projects, and supporting organizational growth through thoughtful planning and design. Responsibilities Oversee space planning, move coordination, and project design initiatives Manage space utilization data and planning tools (e.g., AutoCAD, hoteling platforms) Lead planning efforts for new construction, renovations, and space reallocations Collaborate with leadership on strategic real estate and facilities planning Maintain compliance with applicable codes, standards, and design protocols Direct standards for furnishings, wayfinding, signage, and interior aesthetics Supervise project budgets, design timelines, and contract/vendor relationships Evaluate and respond to space planning requests across departments Contribute to long-range capital and campus master planning efforts Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design, management, or related field (Master’s preferred) Minimum of 10 years of experience in project and design management within a healthcare setting Experience managing large organizations and teams through direct reports Expertise in facility planning, healthcare design standards, and regulatory compliance Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills Proficiency in planning software, space utilization reporting, and CAD tools Why Apply This is a high-impact leadership role for someone passionate about space optimization, healthcare environments, and capital project execution.
