Overview Neurosurgery: Spine, Weill Cornell Medicine, Queens role at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. The Department of Neurological Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine, in collaboration with Och Spine at NewYork-Presbyterian, seeks a board-certified/board-eligible academic neurosurgeon (Assistant, Associate Professor) fellowship trained in complex spine and/or spinal deformity surgery to join our regional network. The successful candidate will be based at NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens, where they will grow a practice in complex spine surgery. The position includes a comprehensive benefits package and participation in the Faculty Physician Organization. Responsibilities Maintain a clinical practice in complex spine surgery Participate in clinical research focused on advancing spine surgery techniques and outcomes Contribute to the education and training of residents, medical students, and fellows Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across orthopedic surgery, pain management, and rehabilitation medicine Engage in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives Basic qualifications MD degree from an accredited institution Completion of an ACGME-accredited neurosurgery residency program Fellowship training in complex spine and/or spinal deformity surgery Board certification or eligibility in Neurological Surgery (ABNS) Demonstrated experience in teaching residents and medical students Evidence of clinical research contributions New York State medical license (or eligibility) DEA certification Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team Preferred qualifications Expertise in innovation in spinal surgery techniques or devices Experience in patient safety and quality improvement initiatives Proficiency in Spanish or Mandarin would be a plus Och Spine program The Och Spine program at NewYork-Presbyterian, launched in 2015, has achieved extraordinary results in quality, patient care, clinical outcomes, and physician recruitment and has become home to the most advanced translational spine research program in the world. Our academic programs include three graduate medical education residency programs and six fellowship programs. Salary and appointment The salary range for this position is: Assistant Professor: $421,655K - $803,112 or Associate Professor: $367,442K - $943,197K. This compensation range does not include our benefits or any incentive payments, based on quality measures and productivity, that may be applicable to this role. The selected candidate will have an academic appointment at Weill Cornell Medicine. Academic rank will be commensurate with the level of experience and scholarly accomplishments.
