OverviewDirector, Capital Formation to support startup fundraising (Seed-Series B) for our portfolio companies with CI's 5 Equity Venture Funds.Connecticut Innovations (CI) is Connecticut's strategic venture capital arm and a leading investor on the eastern seaboard, with a portfolio of 220+ companies across life sciences, technology, and climate tech. CI meets with hundreds of companies annually to identify promising early-stage companies and invests in 20+ new companies each year, while providing follow-on capital and acting as a Limited Partner in outside CT venture funds.CI has invested $700+ million since 1995, with a leveraging power of 10X (>$7 billion). In the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, CI invested $45.8 million in 67 companies and venture funds, helping attract $653 million in outside capital and generating $43.2 million in proceeds to reinvest in early-stage companies. CI hosts or participates in over 20 ecosystem events per year and is headquartered at The District in New Haven as a hub for partnership.Our culture is vibrant, diverse, collaborative, and inclusive, with mission alignment to Connecticut's innovation ecosystem.ResponsibilitiesInvestor Relations & Fundraising Support:Partner with the Founder, Executive Team, and Board of Directors at our portfolio companies to support capital raising across HNWIs, family offices, and institutional allocatorsDevelop and manage investor outreach pipelines; track deal flow, meetings, and follow-ups in coordinationCreate and maintain compelling investor materials: pitch decks, factsheets, talking points, and onboarding guidesRepresent our portfolio companies in a thoughtful, credible, and professional manner to prospective investorsInvestor Onboarding & ExperienceServe as a point of contact for onboarding new investors, ensuring a smooth and responsive experienceCoordinate across teams and legal counsel to manage the investor subscription process, including fund documentation, KYC/AML compliance, and account setupHelp investors understand operational processes, etc.Ongoing Relationship ManagementBuild long-term relationships with VCs and angel investors who would invest in our portfolio companies and serve as trusted advisors to both the founders and the investorsDeliver regular investor reporting in partnership with our portfolio companies, including performance summaries, market commentary, and company updatesSupport ad hoc investor inquiries and help maintain a high level of service and responsivenessInvestor Communications & EventsAssist with planning and execution of investor calls, webinars, and roadshowsSupport the creation of quarterly reports, newsletters, and investor lettersCollect and synthesize investor feedback to inform product and messaging strategyLooking for candidates who are passionate about Connecticut's innovation ecosystem and bring capital-raising expertise in early-stage companies along with deep investor relationships to help founders and their teams advance ideas and execute initiatives.Qualifications10 years of experience in investor relations, capital raising, or investment operations at a fund, financial institution, or venture capital firmDemonstrated success raising capital for early-stage companies (Seed-Series B) across multiple investment industriesFamiliarity with the asset management lifecycle and investor onboarding processesExperience managing or supporting HNW, family office, or institutional investor relationshipsOutstanding written and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple prioritiesHighly organized and proactive with strong interpersonal skillsA confident communicator with the ability to tailor messaging to sophisticated investorsEqually comfortable working independently and collaborating cross-functionallyExcited about working with Founders and EntrepreneursThis role will work at CI's headquarters in New Haven, CT (District | Coworking Space) on a hybrid schedule (Mondays and Wednesdays onsite).
