OverviewValuation Services Director – Complex Financial Instruments at RSM US LLP – Director level role focused on Complex Financial Instruments (CFI) within the Valuation Team. The position involves working on a variety of challenging projects providing exposure to financial analysis, business and financial modeling and forecasting, and valuations of complex instruments and derivatives including convertible instruments, embedded derivatives, earn-outs, interest rate derivatives, common and preferred stock and other securities, along with private debt instruments, options, warrants, and other derivatives. Services support mergers and acquisitions, venture financing and IPOs, taxation planning and compliance, financial reporting, and strategic planning, and may support assurance and tax clients as needed.ResponsibilitiesEstablish and maintain an effective sales and marketing process in the Valuation practice area with defined growth goalsMaintain an established referral networkNetwork with peers in other geographic markets and in other areas of assurance, tax, and business consultingContribute thought leadership in the practice areaServes as primary advisor to clients and manages CFI engagement teamsManage, develop, and train other CFI valuation professionalsSpecific ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain strong relationships with centers of influence and professionalsEffectively manage overall client relationships to exceed client satisfactionManage fundamentals (realization, utilization, leverage, accounts receivable, expenses)Provide thought leadershipMentor, coach and train staffAlign work with the firm’s strategyEnhance the RSM brand through thought leadership and marketing programsPromote cross-selling and integration of service linesBasic QualificationsBachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Math, Financial Mathematics, Quantitative Finance or related); MBA or other Master’s a plusProfessional Certifications: ABV, CPA, ASA or CFAExperience valuing complex financial instrumentsExperience with Option Pricing Models, Monte Carlo and Binomial ModelsExperience with Monte Carlo programs (e.g., @risk, Crystal Ball), lattice models, coding (MATLAB, R), BloombergPractice development, management, marketing and thought leadership related to complex financial instrumentsProven ability to manage client relationships and sell firm solutionsAbility to exceed client expectations in a sophisticated large firm environment; experience with Big 4 or national consulting firm valuations for financial and tax reportingDemonstrated ability to develop business and a productive referral network8+ years in management/leadership/supervisory rolesDatabase experience with Capital IQProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPointFlexibility to travel to clients and other RSM officesAbility to work independently to gather facts, organize data, analyze financial statements and other data, and identify relevant issuesCompensation and BenefitsRSM offers a competitive benefits and compensation package.
