OverviewChief Accounting Officer role for ICBD, a fast-growing portfolio of healthcare, technology, and business services companies. This is a strategic, hands-on leadership position that partners with the CFO, operating company finance leaders, and the ownership group to drive financial integrity, scalability, and enterprise value across a multi-entity environment.About ICBDICBD is a robust single-family office focused on private investment and business development, supporting exceptional companies in healthcare, technology, and beyond. Barnett Family Foundation, among others, united by strategic vision and a dedication to excellence.Role SummaryThis is not a back-office accounting role. The CAO will partner directly with leaders to guide high-stakes financial decisions and oversee systems for a multi-entity enterprise. The CAO is a strategic, hands-on financial leader responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and transparency of accounting and financial reporting across ICBD’s portfolio. The role designs scalable accounting practices, drives operational efficiency, and delivers actionable financial insights to enable bold decision-making. As a senior leader, the CAO collaborates with the CFO, operating company finance leaders, and the ownership group to fuel growth, ensure compliance, and maximize enterprise value.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the accounting function for ICBD and all operating entities, ensuring accurate, timely financial consolidationDevelop and standardize accounting policies and procedures across the portfolio while accommodating business-specific needsMaintain general ledger integrity, oversee intercompany transactions, and manage all close processes (monthly, quarterly, and annually)Produce timely, accurate consolidated financial statements and management reports for ownership and board-level reviewEnsure adherence to U.S. GAAP, tax compliance, and all applicable regulatory requirementsManage external audit processes and relationships with tax advisors, banks, and other financial stakeholdersBusiness Partnership & Growth EnablementCollaborate with operating company finance teams to deliver insights that enhance profitability, cash flow, and operational performanceProvide financial leadership during new business launches, acquisitions, and integrations to ensure seamless accounting alignmentPromote a "think like an owner" culture focused on optimizing working capital and capital deploymentProcess, Controls, & SystemsImplement robust, scalable accounting processes and internal controls for a complex multi-entity environmentEvaluate and improve ERP and reporting systems to enhance consolidation, accuracy, and transparencyLead initiatives in automation, process improvement, and efficiency gains in accounting operationsStrategic PartnershipAct as a trusted advisor to the CFO and ownership group on financial health, risk management, and strategic decision-makingProvide technical accounting expertise for complex transactions, including M&A activity and capital structuringSupport enterprise-level growth initiatives, including technology upgrades, new entity formations, and cross-functional process optimizationAssemble and grow a nimble, high-impact accounting team capable of thriving in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environmentAttract and hire top talent with the agility to adapt to changing priorities, the curiosity to challenge the status quo, and the drive to deliver resultsDevelop a culture where team members think like owners, take smart risks, and seek continuous improvementInvest in professional growth through hands-on coaching, cross-functional exposure, and stretch assignments to prepare the next generation of leadersTeam Leadership & GrowthLead, coach, and develop a high-impact accounting teamFoster a culture of ownership, smart risk-taking, and continuous improvementEnsure talent development and succession planning to support scalable growthQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required15+ years of progressive accounting leadership, with experience in multi-entity or holding company structuresBackground in private company accounting, preferably in private equity-backed, family-owned, or family office environmentsStrong technical expertise in U.S. GAAP, consolidations, and financial reportingBenefitsSpecial C-Suite Benefits Package21 paid days off (15 days of PTO, which increases with tenure, plus 6 holidays)100% paid family health insurance premium100% premium paid for dental and vision insurance for familyConcierge medical doctor for employee100% premium paid for long-term disabilitySERP (Supplemental Executive Retirement Plan) for employeeGenerous 401(k) matchAnnual C-suite bonus program #J-18808-Ljbffr
