Overview Director, Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) Program Innovation Capital One is a leading banking and technology company. The Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Sanctions program is a core risk function within Capital One's Enterprise Risk Organization, serving as a second line of defense and operating certain first line of defense controls. Capital One seeks a leader to drive innovation within the FIU to enable rigorous, nimble, and sustainable AML and Sanctions risk management, in partnership across the first, second, and third lines of defense, tailored to Capital One's products, services, risks, and capabilities. The FIU Program Innovation leader will report to the FIU Senior Director – Head of Program Oversight and Controls Management and will join a high-performing team focused on transforming risk management in a regulated environment. Responsibilities Contribute to the evolution, execution, and continuous improvement of Capital One's enterprise-wide financial crimes investigations team. Identify, develop, and manage programs in partnership with technology and FIU leadership that drive innovation to improve investigator risk identification, quality, and efficiency. Build strong partnerships with business, technology, analytics, and other stakeholders to reach optimal business and risk management outcomes in a dynamic environment. Collaborate with AML's Modeling Analytics and Data Insights team to obtain the data necessary for investigative activities. Ensure projects are documented, appropriately mitigated for risk, and delivered on time. Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent project management, bringing structure to manage work in a dynamic, complex environment. Partner cross-functionally with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to drive project delivery, exhibiting strong influencing skills. Competencies Proven project management capability with the ability to quickly establish structure in a dynamic, complex environment. Understand and embrace technology, analytics, and automation to drive accurate execution. Strong business judgment, analytical acumen, and the ability to evaluate multi-dimensional risk characteristics and formulate compliance recommendations. Strong planning and change management skills to streamline operational processes and deliver sustainable risk management services. Ability to influence and build consensus among peers and senior leadership using sound logic and analysis. Highly developed interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills in a diverse and inclusive environment. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and with external parties. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or military experience At least 5 years of experience in financial crime compliance or financial crime risk in the private or public sector At least 8 years of project management or business transformation Preferred Qualifications Master's or MBA degree 10+ years of experience in investigations or equivalent 2+ years of Technology Program Management At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position. Compensation, Benefits, and Additional Information The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries are current at the time of posting and may vary by location: McLean, VA: $200,100 - $228,400 for Director, AML Investigations Plano, TX: $181,800 - $207,500 for Director, AML Investigations Richmond, VA: $181,800 - $207,500 for Director, AML Investigations Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range for that location. The actual offer will be reflected in the candidate's offer letter. This role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI).
