Join us for a rewarding career in the aviation industry!DIRECTOR OF FUEL AT PRIMEFLIGHTThe Director of Fuel provides strategic leadership for fuel operations across multiple locations, ensuring alignment with company goals and compliance with all relevant regulations. This role leads and develops senior fuel leadership, fosters a culture of safety and accountability, and drives continuous improvement in service, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Working closely with PrimeFlight leadership, airport authorities, airlines, and ground services, the Fuel Director ensures smooth fueling operations and exceptional customer service while managing stakeholder relationships and resolving complex issues.RESPONSIBILITIESProvide strategic direction for all fuel operations across assigned locations.Align fuel operations with corporate vision, safety priorities, and organizational objectives.Lead, coach, and develop General Managers and senior fuel leadership, setting clear performance expectations and conducting executive-level performance reviews.Oversee and direct work assignments for fuel leadership teams, appraising performance, recommending rewards, and administering discipline as necessary.Address escalated complaints and complex operational challenges to ensure timely and effective resolution.Maintain regular, reliable presence at operational sites, setting the standard for exceeding customer service and safety expectations.Establish measurable performance standards to review progress and drive continuous improvement.Recommend salary adjustments, transfers, promotions, and terminations based on performance and operational needs.Ensure staffing plans maintain a qualified workforce.Oversee proper and ongoing training for leadership and front-line teams.Foster a safe, cooperative, and positive workplace climate that maximizes morale and productivity.Ensure compliance with all aviation fuel quality standards and safety regulations (FAA, EPA, NFPA).Develop and enforce safety protocols in all fueling operations.Oversee fuel quality audit programs to maintain the highest operational integrity.Collaborate with fuel suppliers, laboratory services, and regulatory agencies for comprehensive quality control.Oversee enterprise-wide crisis management planning for fuel-related emergencies, including spills, fires, and operational delays.Ensure readiness and coordinated response in collaboration with senior leadership and regulatory agencies.Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and technology integration.Ensure the accuracy, transparency, and timeliness of operational reporting, including fuel transactions, inventory management, compliance records, and safety performance metrics.Stay informed on evolving industry trends and regulations to proactively adjust operations.Maintain and grow relationships with airline executives, airport authorities, and key stakeholders.Serve as a visible, approachable representative of PrimeFlight’s core values.Oversee budget development and fiscal management for fuel operations.Ensure cost-effective practices without compromising safety or service quality.Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.QUALIFICATIONS18 years of age or olderEligible to work in the United StatesMust have a valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving recordCommunicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)10+ years’ experience with overseeing aviation fuel handling and quality control proceduresIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of ProductsAbility to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile DevicesEffectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic meansPass a background check and drug screenEligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidaysAbility to travel up to 25% annuallyTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential requirement satisfactorily.
