NEW ElliptiGO, Inc. – Senior Mechanical EngineerOur company began in 2008 as ElliptiGO, Inc. with the mission of launching the elliptical bicycle industry. In the sixteen years since, we have established ElliptiGO as the brand leader in that industry by selling more than 40,000 bikes to customers around the world. With the accelerating growth of longevity research and understanding, we have expanded our product portfolio to support other aspects of healthy aging beyond cardiovascular fitness. We recently secured the exclusive distributorship for North America for GIBBON, the world leader in slacklining and a company that has been training balance athletes since 2007. In 2022 we launched the GIBBON SlackBoard in North America. That product grew from $3.1 million in revenue in 2023 to more than $14 million in revenue in 2024, dramatically impacting our business. We have started 2025 on a similar trajectory and need more resources to support this extreme growth.Job OverviewWe are looking for a full-time Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This person must be a motivated self-starter who can work independently and is willing and able to perform the many different tasks required in a fast-moving small company environment. This person will be the technical lead for the company and must be confident in their ability to create, vet, test, and validate new designs along with supporting our existing products in the field. This role is based at our headquarters in Solana Beach, CA.Job ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with industrial designers to vet and validate design conceptsProvide and receive feedback to/from technical and non-technical collaboratorsPerform predictive analysis to verify design functionalityDesign test procedures and fixtures and manage testing to verify performance and conformance with safety regulationsCreate engineering documentation for the manufacturing and maintenance of new designsDefine and manage the QA process for incoming productInterface with vendors and manufacturing partnersProvide technical support for customer field issuesJob RequirementsBS in Mechanical Engineering, with 7-10 years of engineering work experienceExcellent technical knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes for bicycles or other similar products/industriesMotivated, self-managed, and reliableExcellent mechanical design and analysis skillsStrong hands-on troubleshooting skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsComputer Skills: Proficient in SOLIDWORKS and MS Office AppsMachining and fabrication experience and working with composite materials is a plusKnowledge of electronics and sensors for testing and data acquisition is a plusAvid runner, cyclist, or fitness enthusiast is a plusCompetitive Salary dependent on experience and specific skill set.
