Job DetailsJob Location: Brooklyn, NYPosition Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High SchoolSalary Range: $15.00 - $18.20 HourlyTravel Percentage: Up to 25%Job Category: FacilitiesDescriptionComunilife Inc. is looking for a Maintenance Specialist for its residential program in Brooklyn. The primary assignment is to report to the building Superintendent to maintain the Throop and Woodhull Residences. The Maintenance Specialist may be assigned to congregate, transitional, or scattered site programs and may be reassigned to different sites as required by the programs. Under supervision of the Superintendent, the Maintenance Specialist will repair and maintain assigned premises and keep the facility clean and organized. The role is responsible for ensuring the general safety conditions of the facility, maintaining cleanliness, and keeping the building(s) in good condition to ensure the safety and comfort of staff and clients, as well as protecting the Program’s physical facility. The position also involves working harmoniously with staff in accordance with Comunilife principles and guidelines. This position is eligible for Comunilife's benefits and paid time off package.Essential Duties:Monitor the facility’s interior and exterior entrances for cleanliness, including snow removal and hazardous condition removal.Maintain garden plete Work Orders efficiently and proficiently.Work respectfully and pleasantly with all clients.Assist in fire safety and evacuation drills, procedures, and training.Report any unusual occurrences or violations of rules and regulations to the supervisor or designated personnel.Perform cleaning duties as assigned, including floors, bathrooms, and public areas, to maintain hygiene standards.Troubleshoot and perform repairs such as painting, patching, sheet rocking, plumbing, electrical work, lighting, lock repair, flooring, carpentry, and HVAC maintenance.Monitor heating and air conditioning systems, logging issues and emphasizing preventative maintenance.Relocate furniture, computers, and supplies as needed.Manage inventory of janitorial supplies and ensure timely replacements.Follow health, safety, and sanitation procedures and adhere to safe work practices.Attend training sessions and meetings as required.Perform additional duties as deemed necessary by supervisors, including snow removal and other repair tasks.QualificationsEducation and Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent with at least one year of maintenance experience.Proven skills in general maintenance including cleaning, tiling, plumbing, heating, and electrical work.Driver’s License may be required for some unilife is an EEO employer and provides equal employment opportunities without discrimination based on race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability, genetics, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression, or any other protected characteristic. #J-18808-Ljbffr
