We offer excellent salaries and benefits.VES is seeking a Ship Systems Safety Engineer to join an exciting team working at the Washington Navy Yard supporting Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Chief Engineers (CHENG) Principal for Safety (PFS). This position involves impactful work with a great team.This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented, articulate individual with the ability to work collaboratively in support of the PFS. The candidate will conduct safety reviews, review system safety plans, and audit program level PFS’s qualification packages. The ideal candidate brings extensive ship system safety knowledge and experience with NAVSEA Operations as well as as a Department of Defense PFS. They should have significant experience in providing guidance and training in system safety engineering policy, methods, and standard practices.Work location is on-site at the Washington Navy Yard, with potential for light telework.Travel: Infrequent local travelRequired ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field10 years of ship system safety experienceExperience in developing system safety engineering policies, procedures, and guidanceStrong written and oral communication skillsExcellent problem-solving abilitiesSecurity Clearance: SECRETDesired ExperienceExperience with the Navy’s Electronic Hazard Assessment Report (eHAR) databaseKnowledge of NAVSEA OperationsFamiliarity with managing INSURVVES provides our government and commercial clients with a range of professional and innovative services including technology acceleration, business consulting, professional engineering, program oversight, and support in defense, energy, and healthcare sectors.
