Business-critical functions empower these teams to execute, with a bold goal: a world with zero accidents and enhanced well-being for all.About the teamYou will be an integral part of a team responsible for developing next-generation in-vehicle user experiences for future Toyota and Lexus vehicles. The experiences are built on and demonstrate new user value powered by Arene, Woven Planet’s flagship programmable automotive software system that integrates on-vehicle OS and data collection services with the cloud.This team will deliver concept hardware and software solutions driven by high-quality UX research that defines an end-to-end product definition for Toyota’s next-generation vehicles. This concept work will produce a full-stack solution starting with the digital services, the programmable software system, and the underlying compute and electrical architecture of the vehicle.This team represents the cutting edge of software and hardware development at Toyota. Your work will marry the speed and agility of Silicon Valley software development with the standards of functional safety, craftsmanship, and time-tested quality of Toyota products in a fast-paced and collaborative prototyping environment.Who are we looking for?As a member of the Arene Advanced Development team, you will plan, manage and oversee and review software deliverables from contract engineers and engineering partners.ResponsibilitiesWe design, develop and deploy software that delivers new and novel end-user experiences in the automotive and mobility spacesWe provide solutions and software deliverables to support new sensors, hardware and user interfaces for automotive productsIdentify technical solutions and create development plans for complex features that utilize cutting edge technologiesDevelop applications and software for both x86 and aarch64 system architecturesDefinition, review and tracking of project SoWsDecomposition of product requirements into technical deliverables, acceptance criteria and milestonesManage contract engineers/teams across differing time zones/localesOversee execution of SoWs with on-time deliverablesAssess developer effectiveness and provide continue/stop decision dataTravel to SoW providers (go & see) on a regular basisEfficiently communicate execution status to management and escalate issues appropriatelyReview and sign off on deliverables from remote teamsQualificationsB.S., M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related fieldStrong C++ programming skillsStrong experience in technical project management and project management tools (e.g. Jira)Strong experience in requirements decomposition into tasks and deliverablesStrong communication skills, ability to summarize project progressAbility to assess and challenge development statusExperience managing SoW contracts and working with contract engineering resourcesPassionately motivated to take ideas from R&D phase to a productGood team player with great communication skills (making presentations)Experience in software development for automotive applicationsExperience in software development on embedded systems (Qualcomm, Nvidia, Renesas, etc.)Experience with communications protocols such as CAN, Some/IP, DDS or similar is a plusFor positions based in Palo Alto, CA, the base pay for this position ranges from $140,000- $230,000 a year.Your base salary is one part of your total compensation. We offer a base salary, short term and long term incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package.
