We’re searching for a Staff Electrical Engineer .In this role, you willJoin an exceptional team of electrical engineers responsible for the development of electronics for Aurora’s custom hardwareCollaborate with numerous internal and external teams gathering requirements, defining HW architecture, modeling, and delivering electronics that achieve performance and product metricsBuild, integrate, test, and debug electronics on the bench and in systems; leverage software tools and advanced test equipment (e.g. oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers)Partner with mechanical, operations, and validation teams to mature high quality electrical designs to manufacturing; including supporting test infrastructure development to meet product coverage and yield targetsLeverage expertise in product development (define/build/test), and have extensive prior experience launching productRequired QualificationsThis role requires a bachelor's or master's degree with a focus in electrical or computer engineering6+ years experience in industry developing complex electrical hardwareExpertise in system architecture, signal and power integrity design and analysis, high speed signaling, grounding, analog electronicsHigh proficiency and ability to analyze systems for balancing electro-mechanical and EMI/EMC constraintsExtensive experience with hardware productization: system, board and chip level implementationStrong electrical engineering fundamentals supported by the use of CAD tools to capture schematic designs, manage PCB layout, leverage Power/Signal simulation/emulation inputExpertise with lab instruments (Oscilloscopes, Analyzers, DMMs, Power Supplies, and E-loads)Desirable QualificationsExperience with custom sensor development and/or network designKnowledge of automotive requirements, safety framework (ISO26262) and qualification processesExperience with both rapid prototyping and design for manufacturingProgramming and Scripting (C++, Python or equivalent) experienceThe base salary range for this position is $181,000-$290,000 per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
