Carrier Operations Engineer

The purpose of the Carrier Operations Engineer is to provide technical evaluation and onboarding of services with potential or existing Telephony Carriers.The Carrier Solution Engineer should maintain technical knowledge of Networking and VoIP technologies and apply that knowledge to interconnect carriers with the Zoom Telephony Platform.ResponsibilitiesEstablish and maintain strong relationships with global telecom carriers and internal teams.Manage vendor escalations, ensuring timely resolution.Work in a global environment with regulatory compliance.Coordinate technical and commercial needs into interconnection solutions for backbone, IP Transit, wavelengths, and MPLS.Build operational performance reports.Provide input on MSA/SLAs.Collaborate with Carrier Provisioners on procurement and delivery of telecom services.Support internal teams with carrier escalation support.Partner with Network Engineering for design and troubleshooting.Participate in network and financial cost analysis for efficiencies.Skills/Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in telecommunications.Knowledge of global telecom concepts, circuit procurement, and service assurance.3-5 years designing or maintaining WAN, Internet, SIP.Experience with carrier relations management.Ability to troubleshoot connectivity layers 1-3.Leadership in troubleshooting and escalation.Understanding of Telecom provisioning lifecycle.Self-starter with strong communication and teamwork anizational and problem-solving skills.Experience with Grafana, scripting, low-code/no-code tools, GSuite, Visio, Jira is a plus.Additional Core ResponsibilitiesSupport carrier onboarding and validation.Build relationships for evaluation, design, and escalation.Collaborate on RFPs for new services.Validate circuit design and path diversity.Assist with circuit test & turn-up.Maintain awareness of carrier on-net presence.Partner with Cost Analysts on rates.Develop carrier portfolio for new infrastructure.Salary Range or On Target Earnings:Minimum: $124,000Maximum: $271,200Additional compensation includes bonus and equity.
