Are you interested in being an agent of change on a team committed to achieving client-focused, mission-driven excellence?Steampunkis seeking a Manual Test Engineerwho will provide testing and QA expertise in mission critical work across our client base.Responsibilities will include testing and verification of code, reporting and recording defects, coordination with architects, functional analysts, and developers on testing and testing results, documenting test scripts, participating in design reviews, user acceptance testing, and deployment activities. This individual will also work in an Agile environment and participate in scrum ceremonies and product planning activities.ContributionsAs a Manual Test Engineer, you will work with our growing DevSecOps practice delivering quality assurance services to support application, cloud and data systems development. We are looking for candidates with 3-5 years' experience with quality assurance in an Agile/DevSecOps work environment. Responsibilities include:Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developersMeet with product design team to determine testing parametersWrite test plans, create test cases, test procedures, bug reports, final QA reports for productsManage test data architecture definition and requestsTroubleshoot errors and streamline the test proceduresTesting and examining code written by others and analyzing results, including three or more of the following:Data validation testingFunctional testingPerformance and load testingUsability testingAccessibility (508) testingProvide validation testing of different system and data sets for cloud migrationsEnsuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threatsWorking with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intendedDocument as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendationsLeverage virtualization and containerization to optimize testing software systemsWork with teams to bring continuous improvement to DevSecOps processes and toolsEngineer and implement solutions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement for the services providedPresent regular status updates and provide cross training to other DevOps team membersAct as an individual contributor and mentor more junior team membersQualificationsRequiredAbility to obtain a U.S. government Security ClearanceBS Degree in an IT field OR BS in a non-IT field and 2 years related IT experience4+ years of manual testing experience3+ years of experience with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket3+ years of application DevSecOps experience with actual/active development experience in an Agile environmentExperience with performance and load testingExperience in one or more cloud computing environments (e.g. AWS, Azure, or GCP)Experience with the Atlassian tool suite, to include JIRA, JIRA AIO Tests, and ConfluencePreferredCertifications:CAST (Certified Associate in Software Testing)International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) CertificationExcellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal, and collaborative skillsExperience with documenting an as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendationsSalesforce experienceAutomation testing experienceAbout steampunkSteampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $90,000 to $130,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
