Cupertino, California, United States HardwareDescription• Display module optical design and preliminary specifications with justifications• Characterize prototypes and perform large-set data analysis on manufacturing build units• Develop sophisticated metrics to quantify image quality with corresponding specifications• Drive failure analysis on display optical issues and develop corresponding mitigations• Develop optical component technologies for future display implementation• International travel is required for supplier collaborationMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s and three years of experience in physics, optics, or related fieldsExperience in the field of optics, physics, optical components (lens, film, thin film coating etc), image processing, machine learning, or computer scienceProficiency of using programming languages (MATLAB, Python etc) and statistic tools (JMP etc) to solve practical engineering problemsConcise & effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills in EnglishPreferred QualificationsA broad engineering background encompassing display technologies, optical simulation (LightTools, Speos etc), and electric engineeringHands-on experience in mass production consumer electronics or display related systemsExperience in working closely with multi-functional teams, as well as with overseas suppliersStrong analytical & critical thinking, and problem-solving skillsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
