VP, Investment Officer Direct Real Estate

Job DescriptionJob Title: Vice President, Real Estate InvestmentsThe RoleThe VP, Real Estate Investments will partner with the Head of Direct Real Estate and the Direct Real Estate Investment Team to execute on a plan to acquire commercial real estate in the US on behalf of various FMR fund vehicles. This will include sourcing the opportunity, managing the financial and market underwriting, negotiating with the seller, presenting the opportunity to the Investment Committee, running the due diligence process, closing the transaction and leading the property-level financing process as required.ResponsibilitiesSource real estate investment opportunities that meet portfolio criteria (asset class and risk/return) across target markets through existing network or broker relationshipsReview and underwrite potential investment opportunitiesNegotiate and structure real estate acquisitions and property level financingPrepare analysis of opportunity and materials for investment committee approval, present opportunities to investment committee for approvalReview and approve legal, operational, environmental, engineering and appraisal reports created as part of the due diligence processContribute valuable knowledge of US real estate marketsBuild and maintain appropriate pipeline of opportunitiesManage and develop investment analysts and associatesThe Expertise and Skills You BringBachelor’s degree required; MBA preferredMinimum of 15 years work experience in commercial real estate required; majority within investment rolesStrong professional relationships throughout the US real estate industryRecent relevant investment experience in US commercial real estate across various asset classes; Asset Management experience a plusStrong writing, financial analysis and presentation abilitiesAbility to evaluate real estate and real estate marketsManagement and leadership skills necessary to implement a new product/strategy within FidelityCritical, objective thinker that can analyze an opportunity and make a quick decisionCollaborative, results driven leaderThe TeamFidelity Investments has established a team in Boston, Massachusetts to develop, launch, and manage direct real estate products for Fidelity’s customers.CertificationsCategory: Private EquityMost roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office.
