Overview Our client, a prestigious, global law firm, seeks multiple, well-trained corporate associates for its Chambers and Partners ranked corporate law practice group in Chicago. This collegial and collaborative practice group handles a full range of transactional work, including M&A, LBOs and restructurings, with activity in private equity fund formation and global counseling for clients in financial services and life sciences industries. Responsibilities Produce acquisition, equity and related documents in a client-ready format. Run key aspects of transactions, including supervising due diligence and more junior members of the deal team. Coordinate specialty areas of a transaction and negotiate and revise key agreements. Handle client communications and work with partners as a senior member of deal teams and client relationships. Demonstrate the ability to serve as a first- or second-chair on transactions; delegate and supervise junior associates; collaborate with colleagues in other practice areas and jurisdictions. Qualifications 4 to 6 years of sophisticated merger and acquisition and private equity transactional experience from a nationally-recognized law firm practice, including hands-on drafting and negotiating experience for complex M&A transactions. Excellent academic credentials from a top law school. Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel and others. Superior organizational skills and the ability to supervise others.
