Position Title: Director of Financial AidNumber of hours per week for which this position is budgeted: 40Number of months per year for which this position is budgeted: 12Reports to: Vice President of Enrollment ManagementPOSITION SUMMARYThe Director of Financial Aid is responsible to the Vice President of Enrollment Management. The position is full-time and offers benefits as specified in the staff handbook. The principal function of this position is to coordinate and administrate financial aid programs. Employee must possess a personal Christian faith including a clear testimony of Christian conversion and be actively involved in an evangelical (preferable Southern Baptist) church.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESManage Financial Aid office and staff.Maintain up-to-date information to the various types of financial aid available to HLG students, including both institutional aid and non-institutional aid.Counsel prospective students and families and current students who need financial assistance for college.Provide students clear, accurate information concerning various aid, the types and amounts for which they are likely to qualify, and procedures for applying for those aids.Serve as chair of the Financial Aid Committee.Assist with the verification process.Create cost of attendance budgets.Maintain a current knowledge of federal, state and HLG policies.Assist with tracking satisfactory academic progress.Calculate the Return of Title IV Funds.Update FAO policy and procedures manual.Check and update the National Student Loan Data System.Perform Financial Aid presentations both on and off campus.Entering information for the annual FISAP.Scheduling an annual audit.Maintain the FAO financial aid management system Ellucian Colleague.Assist with administration of all state programs.Serve as a financial aid information resource to campus and community entities.Track Grant in Aid Forms/Applications for athletic, performance and endowed scholarships.Responsible for all reports.DEPARTMENTAL RELATIONSHIPSAdmissions – Application processOnline Office –Application processRegistrar’s Office – Transcript and enrollment verification and informationAthletics/Dean of Business and Finance – Scholarship informationComputer Services – Report informationAdult and Graduate Studies – Adult and Graduate Program informationInstitutional Advancement and/or Dean of Business and Finance – Endowed scholarshipsAcademic Affairs – Coordination of Academic and Aid needs.Student Development – Monitoring student housing changesUniversity Store – Book charge ratesPublic Safety – Student information sharingCareer Services/Dean of Retention – Student concerns and needsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESStrong interpersonal, communication and management skills required.Ability to multi-task required.Must have values consistent with the mission and purpose of Hannibal-LaGrange University.Must agree to, sign off on, and abide by the standards of employment on the back of the application, on the yearly contract, and in the staff handbook.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAININGExperience Higher Education and the Financial Aid field preferred.Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Word and Outlook and the ability to learn new programs required.To apply, please submit an application, including a cover here.Disclaimer* This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive; an employee will also perform other reasonably related job responsibilities as assigned by immediate supervisor and/or other management as required.
