For us, flexibility is key.Senior Revenue AccountantOverview of the Position:CircleCI is looking for an operations-oriented Senior Revenue Accountant with a strong track record of process improvement and cross-functional collaboration. This role will have a strong operational emphasis, but it would also be helpful to have a technical understanding of the revenue recognition requirements for a software licensing and SaaS this role, you will become a primary contributor to the company’s revenue function and have the opportunity to assist with day-to-day order management and the monthly revenue close. You will also have the opportunity to scale and integrate various processes and systems, including improving billing operations and assisting with the development of an automated revenue recognition engine.You'll be a critical member of the accounting team and have the ability to make an impact on improving processes and automating systems to keep pace with the growth of the company.What you’ll do:Review customer invoices and billing schedulesAssist with the creation of customer contractsReview revenue and deferred revenue schedules and related reconciliations as part of the monthly close processMonitor the collections processes, working closely with the Billing and Collections Analyst to resolve customer payment issuesWork with Sales Ops to monitor and enhance the CPQ order management systemCollaborate across departments to develop more automated revenue recognition solutionsLeverage the use of AI in contract review, the monthly close process, and other operational areasValidate and analyze customer usage data to ensure completeness and accuracyEnsure compliance and proper revenue recognition in accordance within ASC 606 and any related guidanceAssist with external auditors on revenue related requests and documentationParticipate with legal in revenue contract negotiations to ensure accuracy and revenue recognition compliancePartner with the sales team on contract structures and guidelinesCoordinate with Finance and the Senior Commissions Analyst on the accuracy and timeliness of commission calculations and reportingDevelop new operational reporting and analysis for customer usage and other trends and metrics.What we’re looking for:Experience with Salesforce or HubSpot, NetSuite, and other financial systemsUp to date knowledge of US GAAP as it relates to revenue recognition (ASC 606)Experience working for a fast-paced SaaS organizationAbility to review and interpret contractsFamiliarity using AI toolsStrong technical and analytical skillsCPA with audit experience, Big 4/regional experience preferred5 + years relevant experienceBA/BS in Accounting or FinanceHow to applyIf you’re interested in joining the team at CircleCI, please send a resumé and cover letter describing what inspires you and why you think you are a good fit for the team.
