Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center (LHH), is San Francisco's flagship rehabilitation, post-acute, and long-term care facility.As part of the San Francisco Health Network, Laguna Honda collaborates extensively with multiple public health entities within the Department of Public Health, including Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, SFHN primary care, SF Jail Health Services, Whole Person Integrated Care, and SF DPH Department of Behavioral Health.SCHEDULE/SHIFT: Regular – Full-time or Part-timeESSENTIAL DUTIES: Under general supervision of Under general direction of the Laguna HondaMedical Director, 2232 LHH Senior Physician Specialists perform the following essential duties:Functions well within interdisciplinary teams in the care of patientsPerforms essential duties of a physician specialist and primary care physician to an identifiedpanel of LHH residentsProvides cross-coverage for fellow PCPs as neededSupervises staff as neededAssists in coordinating recruitment, training and staff development activitiesAssists in overseeing quality improvement activities of the health center (for example, maybe assigned to lead one of LHH’s quality improvement committees or take on leadership ofan improvement initiative at the facility)Maintains collaboration with specialists, community collaborators and partnersAssists in policy development for the facilityParticipates in Professional Activities committeesServes as a Disaster Service workerJob Requirements : QUALIFICATIONS:Valid current licensure, Medical Board of California or the Osteopathic Medical Board of California*Current valid Board Certification or eligibility in medical specialty areas including, but not limited to: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, etc.Current valid Drug Enforcement Agency registration with the United States Department of Justice.*Applicants possessing a valid license to practice medicine issued from another state within the United States of America may apply, but if selected, the candidate will NOT be appointed/hired until they obtain a valid license to practice medicine issued by the Medical Board of California or the Osteopathic Medical Board of California.Desired Qualifications:1. Experience with aging or geriatric populations.2. Additional training especially in the areas of geriatrics, addiction medicine, palliative care,infectious diseases, and behavioral health, desirable.The Mission of the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) is to protect and promote the health of all San Franciscans.
