We are looking for a skilled Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team and lead our financial strategy.Position SummaryThe Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for the overall financial management of the Neskonlith Indian Band, overseeing budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with relevant legislation, including the Indian Act and the Financial Transparency Act.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with the Band’s objectives.Oversee the preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.Ensure compliance with the Indian Act, Financial Transparency Act, and all relevant federal and provincial regulations.Lead the annual budgeting process, including forecasting and financial planning.Manage cash flow and optimize investment strategies for the Band’s financial sustainability.Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors to ensure compliance and transparency.Provide strategic financial advice to Chief and Council to support decision-making.Supervise the finance team, fostering professional development and teamwork.Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial records and reporting systems.QualificationsA recognized accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA) is required.Minimum of five years of experience in a senior financial management role, preferably in Indigenous governance or the public sector.Strong knowledge of the Indian Act, Financial Transparency Act, and relevant financial regulations.Proven track record in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse stakeholders.Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.Proficient in financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite.Employment ConditionsThis position requires a criminal record check.The successful candidate must be available to work flexible hours as petitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience.Application ProcessInterested candidates are invited to submit their cover letter and resume to:Neskonlith Indian BandAttention:Human ResourcesEmail: : 705 Chief Neskonlith Drive, Chase, BC V0E 1M0Neskonlith Indian Band is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from all qualified individuals, including Indigenous candidates.Legal NoticeThe Neskonlith Indian Band complies with the Indian Act, the Financial Transparency Act, and applicable laws of British Columbia and Canada.
