Tax Experienced Manager, Global Tax OutsourcingStamford, CT, United States and 7 moreJob DescriptionJob Summary:The Tax Experienced Manager, Global Tax Outsourcing (GTO) delivers exceptional client service to BDO's fast expanding client base. This role will work as part of a dedicated team, taking responsibility for controlling a number of clients’ outsourced service lines, working directly with clients and the supporting team under Partner/Director or Sr. Manager’s supervision. This position will take responsibility for the coordination and completion of projects at the executive level with partnership from a variety of teams. Additionally, the Global Tax Outsourcing Experienced Manager plans, sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors project completion The ideal candidate for this role is familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, best practices, and procedures, and will rely on their extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish their goals. This role performs a variety of tasks as they relate to project plans and cross functional support, while leading and directing the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Experience with executive presentations and project is a must.Job Duties:Professionally communicates and partners with cross-functional teams for project timeliness and support. Ensures that excellent services is adhered to in all dealings with clients, employees, and BDO's Local Country Providers (LCP's) and the required Service levels are achievedBuilds and manages at a global strategic level, strong relationships with clients through all manners of communication inclusive of regular visits to client sites, and, as needed, to BDO regional offices/team sitesEstablishes and maintains client account plans and ensures that action steps are implemented to achieve results in client satisfaction, retention, and expansion of services or countriesManages projects across all lines of business needs. Including but not limited to: financial projects, inter-country projects, etc.Maintains highest level of confidentiality and discretionLearns organizational systems and evaluates the need for resources appropriatelyConsistently manages time, budget and resources for all projects ensuring delivery dates, identification and resolution of issues, adherence / mindfulness of project scope, and the impacts of changesDevelops and nurtures strong, collaborative, trusting relationships among the project’s leadership, team members, and key partners. Manages a team of professionals based on client scope of work in the NYC Office and through the BDO Partner Network around the worldExpertly communicates to all team/campaign members ensuring knowledge of project scope, responsibilities, and changesIdentifies trends, best practices, and opportunities for payroll consulting, written analysis, and recommendations for cost effective client solutionsActs as a client advocate and strategic resource for overall client issues in the areas of billing, legal, policy, country tax issues, payroll management operations, and systemsWorks with BDO Partners to prepare year end client review and analysis as well as monthly reports and quarterly reviews as requiredManages Risk & Compliance in line with BDO USA & Client policies. Ensures team compliance with BDO standards, client policy, monitors data accuracy and integrityDevelops Requests for Proposals (RFP), for account renegotiations, including fee structure and presentationDevelops processes and procedures within the team and region which maximize productivity, ensure clear communication and efficiency, and effect consistent service deliveryDevelops and implements efficiency plans including both off-shoring and near shoring strategies and activitiesWorks with the Implementation team during execution plan for new accounts ensuring that communication bridges, policies, procedures, and processes are in place and followedWorks alongside and consults with Senior Directors and Partners as appropriateIs open to change and adopting new approachesUndertakes other tasks and special projects as requiredExceptional Client Services BehaviorsDemonstrates overall client ownership and ensures the highest standards in othersProactively takes potentially valuable ideas to the clientActs as a collaborative client manager and applies a managed client approachDevelops innovative solutions to the commercial challenges of the clientCommunicates effectively to ensure client expectations are managed appropriatelyBusiness & Personal Development BehaviorsDevelops and builds a pipeline of potential new work with minimal supervisionActively involves others in their business development activitiesWrites a personal development plan and ensures it is executedUndertakes meaningful business discussions with clients at all levelsBegins to develop an area of specialism and knowledgeIs fully involved in Business Development (BD) strategyOpenly shares expertise both internally and externallySupervisory Responsibilities:Monitors performance of team against set goals and standards, responding to any deviations in a proactive mannerServes as a resource for problem resolution, training, and team buildingGives time to other people to help them solve their issuesIs robust under pressure when managing multiple project/activitiesTakes the lead with difficult conversations and delivers constructive feedbackEnsures high quality work from their team, ensuring high standards are maintained for all internal and external clientsQualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Education:Bachelor’s degree, required; focus in Accounting, Economics, or Finance, preferredExperience:Five (5) or more years of Global Tax Outsourcing experience, requiredExperience in a professional services firm, requiredLicense/Certifications:CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) (or the equivalent of one of these designations), preferredSoftware:Proficient in IT applications e.g., Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), preferredProficient in SharePoint and GFR, preferredLanguage:English and proficiency in more than one (1) other language, preferredOther Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Excellent organization/computer skills with the ability to work on various projects simultaneouslyGood judgment and strong reasoning skillsExcellent written and verbal communicate skillsWillingness to work off-hours; flexibility/ability to work across global time zonesExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate with diverse personalities in a tactful and mature mannerAbility to respond tactfully and professionally in high demand situationsIndividual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.National Range: $94,500 - $189,000Maryland Range: $94,500 - $189,000NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $94,500 - $189,000About UsJoin us at BDO, where you will find more than a career, you’ll find a place where your work is impactful, and you are valued for your individuality.
