OverviewWe are seeking a full-timeTeam Leader Systems Test in our Chandler, AZ location. In this role, you will be a hands on leader for a team that is responsible for conceiving, planning, designing, implementing, and reporting on broad system level tests for complex integrated avionics systems that span several multi-disciplinary functions. This includes writing test cases for new features on our Mobile, Web and Embedded avionics systems.Essential FunctionsAnticipate, specify, plan, and develop test methods, including test automation toolsObtain and continue to maintain an in-depth understanding of Garmin integrated avionics systems, including nominal, off-nominal/reversionary, and failed operationsWrite system level test plans that clearly explain test objectives and detail test stepsCoordinate/execute test plans and report test results in writing (and orally as needed)Update/maintain the needs of data logging capabilities for development programs and continue to make improvements to the user interface for analyzing the collected dataAnticipate, specify, develop, implement, and maintain tools (including test automation tools) that improve the quality, efficiently, and scalability of the test team’s servicesUpdate, maintain, and create documentation for test infrastructureDevelop and debug software architecture for automation of test process in high level programming language in accordance with Garmin’s software development methodologyConceive, implement, and maintain processes that improve the quality and scalability of the group’s servicesAnticipate and plan test needs by identifying, prioritizing, and regularly reviewing hardware/software release objectives so that test infrastructure and plans are ready when needed, and so that testing can ultimately be executed when neededManage assignments to distribute workload sensibly, while attempting to grow the technical/organizational strength of group membersDirectly staff/supervise various levels of team members by setting a healthy tone for the team environment and providing individualized coaching, training and mentoringParticipate in recruiting activities, interview, hire, train, and evaluate performance for the teamBasic QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software / Computer Science Engineering, Computer Engineer, Aerospace Engineering, or Mechanical EngineeringRelevant education and/or experience in software design, development and maintenance, as required for the successful performance of the essential functions of the positionLeadership level experience and responsibilitiesStrong skills in test conception/test design for complex electronic and electro-mechanical systemsStrong skills in test automation, including test scripting capabilityDemonstrated strong and effective verbal, written (planning/reporting), and interpersonal communication skillsDesired QualificationsOutstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.2)5+ years Systems Test experience within software environmentsPilot’s License or a passion for aviation is desiredGood knowledge of Garmin’s aviation product lines and customer needsGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
