Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) job at Eagle Seven. Chicago, IL.Eagle Seven is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join our team and assist with the design, development, and administration of our trading and research systems. This role is a unique blend of software engineering and system administration that encourages significant interaction with traders, developers, and researchers. The successful candidate will be proactive, have a strong sense of ownership, and be driven to provide creative technical solutions to business problems.Primary Responsibilities:Design, implement and maintain highly automated, scalable and resilient infrastructure in support of our real-time trading operationsBuild solutions to automate and improve operational reliability and efficiencyCollaborate with various stakeholders to develop automated, customizable and proactive monitoring and reporting systemsCreate integrations with various cloud platforms and on-premises data systemsDevelop and maintaining binary and text based ETL pipelinesAssist the larger infrastructure team to develop system and network automations that make the team more efficientResponsible for development and maintenance of our HPC (High-performance computing) cloud-based infrastructureDevelop various REST APIs and assisting with their integration into other projectsParticipate in 2nd line support; responding to incidents quickly and appropriately to facilitate diagnosis and resolutionStay current with the latest technology trends in the industry; propose, evaluate, and deploy innovative solutionsImplement systems adhering to firm-wide security policies and industry best practicesInteract with and administer SQL and NoSQL databases both locally and in the cloudRequirementsSkills and Experience:3+ years of experience in Systems, Networking, SRE, or DevOps engineeringStrong programming experience in Python and shell scripting with a version control system such as Git requiredStrong command of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Salt Project, Puppet, and related technologiesFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo, GitHub actions, Gitlab CI/CD)Expertise in cloud technology (AWS and GCP experience preferred)Experience with containerization, both on-premises (e.g., Kubernetes) and in the public cloud (e.g., Google GKE, Amazon EKS)Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking, architecture, and core technologies (such as DNS, DHCP, Routing, VPN)Knowledge of storage, architecture, and core technologies (such as NFS, block, storage, object storage)Excellent verbal/written communication skills and documentation/knowledge management skillsBenefitsEagle Seven offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package to all full-time employees.Medical PPO and HMO coverage through BlueCross BlueShieldDental coverage through PrincipalVision coverage through VSP401k Retirement Savings Plan with Employer MatchLife InsurancePaid Time OffFlexible Spending AccountPre-tax Transit BenefitsComplimentary Lunch and Beverages #J-18808-Ljbffr
