Technical Lead, Software Engineering

IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is seeking a Technical Lead to manage a team of talented engineers and provide hands-on technical and project leadership.This is a full-time position in our San Mateo, CA headquarters office. The work schedule for this role is Monday-Friday in the office with the option to work from home one day per week.WHAT YOU'LL BE DOINGManage and build a high-performance teamGuide and mentor engineers and project leads to ensure a high level of work satisfaction, technical advancement, and progress towards individual career goalsMake company initiatives, mission, goals, and values clear to each team memberWork with project managers, designers, and QA to maintain and surpass product usability and quality standardsWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORAt least 5 years of direct experience in software engineering and 2 years of engineering managementBachelor's or advanced degree in computer science or a related disciplineExcellent programming skills in Java or another object-oriented languageStrong communication and leadership skillsExceptional analytical reasoning and problem-solving skillsStrong organization and time management skillsPassion for improving education through technologyOur salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The base salary range for this full-time position is $140,000 to $210,000 + equity + benefits.
