OverviewAre you passionate about shaping the future of audio?Shure is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer to change the future of audio. In this role you will be responsible for the evolution and integration of new technologies as they apply to audio and conferencing products specifically for Microsoft Windows platforms.This role is hybrid and based out of our Niles, IL Corporate Headquarters.ResponsibilitiesResearches, develops, and demonstrates new technologies as they apply to AV productsDesigns software and author code elements such as drivers, algorithms, middleware, and applications specifically for the Windows platformCreates scripts to automate code generating tools, data processing, and verification of designWorks with other functional team members to integrate technologies with company platforms and productsKeeps abreast of new technologies, the state of the art, and communicate to the appropriate levelsWrites software networking components based on existing embedded software platforms and operating systemsApplies OO/SOLID and secure coding design principlesEstimates, organizes, and documents tasksPerforms other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering or equivalent experienceMinimum of 5 years of experience, including minimum of 4 years of experience writing C/C++ for Linux, Windows, macOS, and / or embedded Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS)Minimum of 2 years industry experience developing specifically for WindowsExperience implementing applications, device drivers and/or frameworks for WindowsExperience implementing client to server network communications, TCP/IP, socketsExperience working Visual StudioExperience working with CMAKE and other cross platform build tools.Experience with software development tools such as Integrated Development Environments, compilers/linkers, and debugging tools (emulator, profiler, etc.) requiredExperience solving problems following SOLID and OO design principlesMust be proficient in Windows development with C++.Working knowledge of Windows Driver Kit (WDK) is a plus.Working knowledge of Microsoft Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) is a plus.Working knowledge of audio application development is a plusDevelopment experience in TypeScript and NodeJS is a plusDeveloper experience with GraphQL is a plusAbility to integrate technologies to provide proof of concept demonstrationsExcellent communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to communicate with all levels of staff and managementInitiative, passion for innovation, creativity, and a solid understanding of software engineering is required.Ability to work both independently and perform as a leader in team environmentBe self-motivated to learn new technologies and be flexible to support tasking in a variety of areasExperience in secure coding practiceUnderstanding of Operating System internalsWindows kernel/module developmentExperience with professional audio/video applications is a plusApplicants for this position must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Base salaries vary based on qualifications, geography, experience, and expertise in each respective discipline. The base salary range for this position is between $88,400 - $177,600. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base salary for this opportunity.If your salary expectations do not align, still apply as we are often flexible on the seniority of posted positions.
