Software Development Manager, SWE ProgramsSan Diego, California, United States Software and ServicesDescriptionThe Central Automation and Tools team is responsible for improving all facets of using automation in our QE workflows. This includes analyzing the workflows, data and tools that help teams make it an effective, efficient element of their testing strategy. We need a creative leader to help us explore and implement new technologies to continually improve our approach to achieving outstanding quality. You will work closely with other QE Managers and Automation Engineers across Apple to ensure we are putting the best ideas into our solutions. You will be part of all aspects of the development cycle from research, prototyping, development and shipping software to a large group of internal teams. This role is perfect for you if you enjoy collaborating with others and exploring how groundbreaking technology can be used to solve challenging problems for the betterment of many teams!Minimum QualificationsBachelorʼs degree in Computer Science or related field. Two years of directly related work experience can substitute for the education requirement.Proven experience leading and growing small-to-medium-sized engineering teams.Solid computer science fundamentals.Strong development skills in Swift, Objective-C, C++ or similar languages.Preferred QualificationsProven ability to ramp up quickly on new technologies.Ability to lead several concurrent projects.Experience in driving development and deployment of relevant testing tools and infrastructureExperience developing software on Apple platforms (Xcode, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, and watchOS) is preferred but not required.Detail oriented, analytical, and creative problem solver with passion for quality processesAbility to triage problems, prioritize accordingly, and propose a resolutionExcellent written and verbal communication skills.At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $188,200 and $283,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
