RStudio Platform Engineer – IT Systems Engineer – Scientific ComputingThe RStudio Platform Systems Engineer will support the scientific clinical research organization of 150-300+ clinical Research Scientists, Biostatisticians, Data Scientists, and Informatics Specialists. Will optimize Open Source RStudio Application Servers, production environment ecosystem – 700+ RStudio packages, version histories, patches – Production and Test.Responsibilities:RStudio engineering, configuration, performance tuning, optimization, and enhancement of the RStudio Redhat Linux application server environment with Puppet automation for the R and Python user community.Leverage DevOps toolchains designing, coding, building, testing, packaging, releasing, configuring, and stallation and support of R, Python and related packages.Manage IDEs such as PyCharm and RStudio including how to integrate and support in the stallation and configuration of database drivers and connectivity, including Oracle, SQL Server, Hive, etc.Configuring database/data source connectivity with applications like Oracle, Exadata, SQL, SAS, EPIC, etc.Configuration of email functionality using SMTP to email CSVs, images, and PDF files from both R and tegration of automation scheduling for both R and Python.Redhat Linux operating system experience, command line scripting, and file access configuration.Familiar with security configurations, such as Service Accounts, AD Groups, Redhat Linux, Kerberos key settings, and Cyberark along with obfuscation and encryption of credentials and firewall connectivity.Qualifications:7+ years open source RStudio server engineering, configuration, administration, troubleshooting, pkg/versions.Experience managing RStudio infrastructure – configuration, performance, optimization.Expert in managing various package management/tools in support of RStudio platform.5+ years of experience in Python, R, notebooks.Expert in supporting data scientists, research scientists, analysts – troubleshooting RStudio platform.5+ years RedHat/Linux administration, hardening, security/vulnerability management, command line scripting, file access configuration.Experience in automation – Puppet, Puppet Server, Puppet/Shell Scripting, Automation, Orchestration.Expert level experience in maintaining OS level patches, hardening and image repositories.Configuring database/data source connectivity with applications like Oracle, Exadata, SQL, SAS, Epic, stallation and configuration of database drivers and connectivity, including Oracle, SQL Server, Hive, etc.Experience in enabling the Kerberos setup in the platform.Experience with Server Virtualization, clustering, file systems, storage and backup systems.Familiar with security configurations, such as Service Accounts, AD Groups, Redhat Linux, Kerberos key settings, and PAM/CyberArk and encryption of credentials and firewall connectivity.Ability to research and troubleshoot independently.Ability to network and collaborate with IT infrastructure teams within the organization.Excellent documentation skills.Ability to train and assist the user community to troubleshoot issues.Motivated organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple quisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.Logistics: 6mo+ contract / contract to perm role.
