Our solutions are deployed on over 400 million devices and process more than 12 billion transactions annually.We are a global team solving hard problems for online trust, with a growth mindset and a focus on problem-solving and responsible innovation.The RoleAs the VP, Product and Engineering Security at GeoComply, you will lead and shape a comprehensive security strategy that integrates with the product development lifecycle and corporate infrastructure. This role requires a strong technical foundation in application and product security and extensive experience managing corporate IT and security risks, including incident management, to protect our technology, IP, and customer data while meeting regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with engineering, product, and executive teams, as well as external stakeholders, to navigate the evolving digital security landscape. The role offers the opportunity to lead a best-in-class security organization that supports GeoComply’s growth and positions the company as a leader in security and compliance across industries served. Define and champion a global security vision prioritizing secure development practices, application security, and enterprise-wide IT infrastructure protection, aligned with business objectives and growth strategy. Own the security roadmap, focusing on integrating security into the SDLC and ensuring resilience of products and platforms against evolving threats. Partner with engineering and product leadership to embed security by design principles and influence key technical decisions, including considerations for IPO preparations. Build internal security capabilities with an eye toward future productization. Oversee and, when necessary, directly manage critical security initiatives and the implementation of security technologies and processes. Lead security strategies for emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, establishing guardrails, data protection, and privacy principles within AI systems. Digital Transformation: Drive modernization initiatives to improve efficiency through technology, collaborating with other departments. Risk & Compliance Oversight Develop and oversee a proactive threat detection and intelligence program to identify and mitigate potential attacks against GeoComply’s products and infrastructure. Champion regulatory compliance efforts (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR) and readiness for audits and certifications for product offerings. Lead GeoComply’s global risk management program, including proactive risk identification, assessment, and mitigation across the business, technology, and development processes. Incident Management: Lead the company’s incident management program and processes, including incident response and breach notification, regulatory communications, and resolution. Drive root cause assessment and corrective action with internal stakeholders. Establish and maintain data security and privacy programs in alignment with global data protection regulations. IT: Lead all aspects of the IT function, including controls, procurement, and operationalizing core systems to empower the business while minimizing risk. Executive Engagement & External Relations Represent GeoComply’s security strategy to the board, investors, regulators, and industry partners, detailing security posture and product security measures. Foster relationships with regulatory bodies and law enforcement to stay aligned with legal and regulatory landscapes. Shape industry standards and policy, positioning GeoComply as a leader in secure digital transactions and innovation. Culture & Organizational Leadership Cultivate a security-first culture across the organization, with emphasis on secure coding practices and application security. Lead, mentor, and grow the global information security team, developing future leaders and fostering innovation, collaboration, and accountability. Shape the organization’s cybersecurity talent strategy to support growth and tech advancement, focusing on recruiting top security talent. Who You Are Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent demonstrable experience; strong portfolio in application and product security leadership. Industry certifications such as CISSP, CSSLP, OSCP, CEH, or cloud security certifications are desirable. Visionary leader with deep technical expertise in product and application security, strategic foresight, and experience in corporate security. Extensive experience leading security programs integrated with the SDLC and cloud-native applications. Engineering mindset, capable of earning trust of software and infra engineers and advising on technical security matters. Proven track record as a Security Leader in fast-paced, high-growth environments, ideally in gaming, financial services, or regulated industries. Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and effective mitigation strategies. Exceptional leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and ability to drive cultural change. Knowledge of risk management and compliance frameworks (ISO27001, SOC2) and their application to software development and deployment. Excellent communication with executives, board members, customers, regulators, and internal teams.
