For more information, visit DescriptionThe Distinguished Hardware Engineer is responsible for the design and development of security appliances from specification through to mass production.Design responsibilities include:Hardware architectureResearching and selecting partsProviding guidelines and instructions for PCB designsInterfacing with manufacturing/operations group to optimize price/performance of productLeading by example and setting high standards for junior engineers and the team.Job ResponsibilitiesDesignPrior experience in designing products using Intel, AMD, ARM, and MIPS processorsKnowledge of high-speed PCB design process (both front and back end) including design rules and design flowProficiency in PCB design Tools (such as Orcad, Hyperlynx, Hspice, Allegro and Timing Designer)Analytical skills for device selection and prototypingProficiency in data analysis/presentation tools such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ProjectAbility to prepare key deliverables such as BOMs, quotes, schematics, design/test files, component requests/qualification, ECOs, working and secure design standards knowledgeIntimate knowledge of the PCI, SPI, and I2C standardsKnowledge of 802.3 Ethernet standards and experience designing products with high-speed interfaces (from both a hardware and software perspective)Knowledge of wireless 802.11 standardsKnowledge and experience in designing products with security features – such as TPMs, TRNG, etc.Signal Integrity (SI) and timingHands-on with equipment and techniques for collecting SI data, including collecting plots on general purpose data, address, and control buses as well as power supply rails, Ethernet ports, I2C, PCI, etc.Working knowledge of proper techniques for doing timing analysis on boards in the labTest and manufacturabilityKnowledge of In Circuit Test (ICT)Short/Open Measurements and Testability for all discrete devicesDigital/Analog tests and measurementsBoundary scan testing (JTAG)Working knowledge of issues related to Electromigration, ESD, Thermal Profiling, PCB fabrication and AssemblySoftwareWorking knowledge of programming software such as C and PERL.
