Greenfield Technical Servicesis a growing organisation providing Civil Engineering and Project Management consultancy services across the state.We have worked with more than 35 local governments and in 50-plus regional towns covering much of regional and remote Western Australia.We know the terrain, we have the people, and we deliver the requirements that help local government and private sector businesses succeed.We are looking for a Project Engineerto join the Greenfield team.What the job involves:Responsible for completing various technical and engineering-related tasks relating to road and civil engineering scopes of work. Preparing and contributing to engineering deliverables including client memos, reports, funding submissions, technical assessments, and client advice.Participate in the coordination of scopes of work for road and civil-related projects in various stages of the project lifecycle, and implementation of civil engineering technical knowledge and experience to Client projects.Use and implement the Company integrated management system procedures and policies for quality, health, safety, and environment in the delivery of project works.There are no direct reports. Staff indirectly supervised may include Civil Engineers, Project Administrators, and/or Site Inspectors.Civil EngineeringReviews and critiques engineering data, deliverables, documentation, and other information as required for the job.Identifies, reviews, and proposes practical engineering solutions meeting client needs.Identifies technical and engineering resources needed to complete jobs and where necessary, seeks to leverage existing resources to deliver works.Plans, designs, or carries out projects or tasks with limited or partial information, objectives and/or outcomes demonstrating sound engineering and project management judgement.Knowledge of key road engineering deliverables and the selection of the correct deliverables to meet project objectives.Evaluates and critiques proposed solutions from an engineering perspective and considers risks associated with engineered solutions.Prepares, reviews, and contributes to technical reports and other documentation to a high standard with limited supervision.Contributes to providing clients with specialist technical advice and consulting services in civil and road engineering.Uses and applies appropriate implementation strategies, tools, and technologies.Provides technical assistance, support, and mentoring to others within the business as required.Establishes priorities to meet engineering and technical deadlines.Project ManagementPlans, designs, or carries out projects or tasks without well-defined objectives and outcomes.Uses and applies appropriate implementation strategies, tools, and technologies.Adapts to changing work priorities and workplace practices.Uses a range of assessment techniques and standard project management practices to monitor the success of a project or task including setting project milestones.Establishes priorities in consultation with supervisor to meet deadlines.Modifies project work plans as appropriate and communicates those changes to the team to ensure the project is not derailed.Provides ongoing project updates regarding progress to keep others informed of status and outstanding issues.Monitors and manages project budgets and cash flow and takes action to address deviations from planned expenditure.Identifies potential variations and assesses these in the context of the project, organisation, and other contexts.LeadershipIdentifies business needs and contributes technical engineering mentoring and advice to colleagues as required.Builds team commitment by demonstrating personal conviction and motivates others to deliver against goals.Supports individuals and the team, delegating responsibilities appropriately and consistent with business objectives.FinanceDevelop, track, and assess project schedules and budgets.Identify areas requiring attention or action and promptly propose effective action/s to correct the financial performance to the Project Engineering LeadStakeholder EngagementContribute to stakeholder engagement on specific projects.Prepare accurate, timely, and professional project reports and updates for key stakeholders as requiredParticipate in the management of contractors and subcontractors in accordance with contractual documentation.Identify and address stakeholder concerns in a professional and considered manner.What qualifications and experience are required?Tertiary qualification in civil engineering or equivalentMinimum three years’ experience as a Civil Engineer in a related industryTertiary qualification in Project Management/Business Administration/Commerce (at a minimum, experience in a similar capacity is required)Membership of the Institution of Engineers AustraliaWorking knowledge of key software packages (AutoCAD, 12d)Visual Road Condition Assessment knowledge and experienceRoad asset management systems experience including working knowledge of RAMMRoad asset condition inspection and assessment including visual techniques and methodsOther Requirements:Ability to travel to and stay at site-based locations once per month / when requiredAbility to work irregular hoursCurrent and valid Australian Driver’s LicenseSatisfactory completion of a medical examinationWhat Greenfield Technical Services can offer you:A competitive salary and permanent positionA company vehicleAttractive office location with plenty of amenities and onsite parking (Geraldton office) or work from home (WA)An optional nine-day fortnightCareer development opportunities in a growing organisationTravel and interesting work locations predominantly regional WAAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPart-contribution for re-location costs from interstate4-5 weeks housing allowance for relocation to Geraldton office #J-18808-Ljbffr
