OverviewThe Center for a New American Security (CNAS) announces applications for the 2026 class of the Shawn Brimley Next Generation National Security Leaders Fellowship. This prestigious, non-residential, part-time professional development program is designed to cultivate the next generation of leaders in U.S. national security and foreign policy.About the FellowshipEach year CNAS selects a bipartisan cohort of 20 to 25 early-career professionals, aged 27 to 35, working across the national security landscape—including government, military, private sector, academia, journalism, and the non-profit sector.Named in honor of Shawn Brimley, a founding CNAS member who exemplified integrity, leadership, and service to the nation, the fellowship embodies his legacy of commitment to public service and strategic thought.Program HighlightsDuration: One year (part-time, hybrid format)Location: Washington, D.C. (with select hybrid/virtual sessions)Structure:Monthly dinner series with national security leadersLeadership development sessionsPolicy and strategic engagement forumsCapstone international study tourCost: There is no fee to participate in the program.
