It is both an art and a science and requires people with intuition, creativity, and the ability to imagine many different user perspectives.As a Software Engineer, you will be developing next-generation Interactive Voice Response application solutions using the latest frameworks and tools. As a member of the Engineering team, you will design, develop, and deploy application solutions for the company’s expanding list of clients using advanced call processing, speech, and network technologies.What You'll DoEnergize teammates to continuously improvePossess strong technical capabilitiesEnjoy working independently in a fast-paced technical environmentAnalyze existing architecture to make consistent improvementsPossess excellent analytical and problem-solving skillsDemonstrate curiosity with regard to softwareProvide on-call support to external customersWork with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issuesDevelop IVR applications using a variety of technologies, including Java, .NET, VXML, JavaScript, JRuby, and GroovyApply advanced knowledge of the Object-Oriented principles and best practices of software development to enhance products and customer experiencePerform design and code reviewsLearn and implement a wide range of technologies that integrate solutions with customersTransition solutions to internal and external platform teamsPrioritize and juggle between multiple projects based on customer needsCommunicate with external customers as requiredQualificationsA Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experienceUp to 2 years of experience as a software developerProven track record of developing high-quality softwareKnowledge of Object-Oriented software development techniquesAbility to communicate with developers, executive managers, and external customersExperience with VXML, ASR, Call Center Telephony, and IVR development platforms, such as Cisco CVP or GenesysStrong sense of responsibility, accountability, and passion about quality of work, desire to learn, and take ownershipStrong verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in conversational North American Spanish, preferredExperience in MVC frameworks, preferredExperience with Jenkins or other build server, preferredExperience with Agile development practices, preferredInterest in data collection and analytics, preferredKnowledge of multiple SDLC practices, preferredProficiency in 1+ programming language, such as Java, C#, or C++, preferredWorking with UNIX/Linux/OSX, preferredFamiliarity with JavaScript, Ruby on Rails, VUI Design, preferredDeep understanding of the principles of IVR Voice Interface design, preferredSalary $79,500 - $87,100 a yearThe base salary range provided is determined by market data matched to the job description and the level of the position, based in our industry and the Chicagoland area. We often consider candidates who do not meet all the qualifications listed in the job description (i.e., more or less years of experience, etc.). Therefore, an offer for this position may differ from the base salary range provided depending on the qualifications/skills of the candidate.
