Senior Retail Store Designer, Worldwide Retail Growth & Development, Store Design, Worldwide Retail Growth & DevelopmentJob ID: 2816462 | Services LLCWe are looking for an innovative Architect or Interior Designer to join the Store Design Team for Amazon physical retail who will focus on open store retrofit and remodel projects. In this role you need to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats and work effectively in a highly collaborative environment. You are the right person for this job if you are a creative problem solver with an intense curiosity and a passion for customers. You must demonstrate the ability to efficiently drive multiple projects throughout all phases of design, permitting and construction administration. In this position you will collaborate with internal and external cross-functional teams at many levels. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and has a deep passion for innovative retail design. We are looking for someone who is obsessed with creating world-class shopping experiences for our customers. Outstanding project management and communication skills, both written and verbal are required.Key job responsibilitiesReview previous project documentation ensuring current store conditions, jurisdictional and landlord requirements are incorporated into your design solutionAbility to understand the constraints of an existing space, the scope of changes and intent required to successfully implement solutions that meet the needs of our customersManaging external consultants’ production of comprehensive design documentation and permittingThe ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills to ensure on time delivery and adherence to budgetsProviding clear and concise communication with cross-functional teams and senior leadershipCoordinating with estimating and construction teams on budget considerations and value engineering effortsGain landlord approvals as required per lease requirementsTranslating brand and programmatic design standards into site specific solutionsReviewing construction documents, shop drawings and landlord documentationProviding Construction Administrative support as neededDemonstrated ability in building and health codes, 3D visualization, and industry trendsDemonstrated ability to communicate design vision in visual, written, and verbal formatsThe ability to work effectively in an extremely fast paced, ambiguous environmentSolutions focused, proactive and flexible attitude; willingness to take an “all hands-on deck” approachA day in the lifeIf you thrive in an ever-changing progressive environment, then we want to talk to you. Prior experience remodeling in an open store environment and oversight of consultant performance is critical. Our designs are customer obsessed, focusing on customers shopping in our stores and ensures that our operations team can work safely and efficiently.BASIC QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in architecture or interior design5+ years of commercial retail design or architecture experienceGrocery ExperienceAbility to manage change though multiple projects in various phases of designExperience with design development, construction documents, permitting, and construction administrationProven track record of owning projects from start to finishArchitecture/Retail Design – throughout all phases of designIntermediate Revit skills required30% travel expectedPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSArchitectural background preferredKnowledge of current sustainability trends and practices preferredSketchUp, Bluebeam, Enscape, InDesign and Photoshop experience a plusAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
