Select how often (in days) to receive an alert:Job Title: Director, Worldwide Publicity, Motion Picture Group (MPG) CommunicationsLocation:Santa Monica, CA, US, 90404Summary of PositionThe Director, Worldwide Publicity, MPG Comms will report to the head of Worldwide Publicity, and work alongside SVP, Worldwide Publicity, VP, Worldwide Publicity and agency partners in developing, managing and directing trade media relations, internal and external executive communications and film-specific news while collaborating with senior executives and internal teams in support of Lionsgate’s Motion Picture Group. This role involves managing trade and business media relations and collaborating closely with executives and cross-functional teams.ResponsibilitiesServe as point person to direct, manage, organize, and message critical communications including but not limited to: press releases, Lionsgate MPG trade press coverage, executive trade coverage and talks, industry news and competitive analysesWork closely with MPG Comms agency partners to develop and maintain relationships with key trade and entertainment press, respond to inquiries, and manage/support approval processes with executives and filmmakersWork swiftly to keep Head of Worldwide Publicity, Chief Communications Officer and Corporate Communications team up to speed on timely and relevant updates with film-specific news, releases and MPG initiativesWork closely with Head of Worldwide Publicity, Corporate Communications and MPG Comms agency partners on day-to-day inquiries from trade reporters regarding studio projects, box office reports, and transactional announcementsWork closely with Head of Worldwide Publicity, Corporate Communications and MPG Comms agency partners to develop and continuously refine the motion picture group narrative framework that aligns film, corporate, and executive messagingWork closely with Head of Worldwide Publicity, Corporate Communications and MPG Comms agency on issues-based and crisis PR preparedness as neededServe as point-person alongside MPG Comms agency partners in the oversight, organization and management of high volume of press releases; support in the writing, reviewing, editing and approval process of press releases across MPG theatrical slate and specialty releasesEstablish and oversee expected comms processes across marketing and distribution groups; support in theatrical release date comms processConstant and thorough scanning of trade press breaks and industry news; manage timely communication and circulating of film news breaks with internal executives and stakeholdersSet and manage subscriptions of emerging Substacks and paywalled entertainment industry publications; circulate stories regularlyWork with senior MPG leadership to ensure company goals and accomplishments are reflected in key messaging and announcementsTrack media coverage, follow industry trends and share competitive entertainment industry news with internal executives and stakeholdersTrack executive speaking opportunities and special issues inclusionsSupport in the writing and approval process for announcements for Lionsgate’s Global Product & Experiences initiativesSupport in drafting press materials such as fact sheets, talking points and memosCollaborate with internal teams to identify marketable stories and opportunities for executive speaking engagementsWork closely with Head of Worldwide Publicity and VP of Events to ensure clear communication for motion picture executives on major studio events such as premieres, conventions and industry eventsManage communications for corporate events, town halls, film premieres, and industry events like CinemaConProactively seek opportunities to highlight key executives and studio initiativesStaff events and manage executives at red carpet events, premieres, and awards ceremoniesTravel as needed and support Worldwide Publicity eventsQualifications and SkillsMinimum of 4-6 years of experience in a marketing and/or publicity capacityBachelor's degree in communications or related degreeHighly organized and detail oriented with interest and enthusiasm about film industrySuperior communication skills (written and verbal)Willingness to work overtime and be flexible with hoursAbility to maintain a high level of confidentialityAbility to interact effectively with all levels of managementAbility to successfully manage multiple projects and deal with deadline pressureStrong work ethicAbout the CompanyLionsgate (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B) encompasses world-class motion picture and television studio operations aligned with the STARZ premium global subscription platform to bring a unique and varied portfolio of entertainment to consumers around the world.
