Bay Cove pursues this mission by providing individualized and compassionate services to people facing the challenges associated with developmental disabilities, mental illness, substance use disorders, and homelessness at more than 175 program sites throughout Greater Boston and Southeastern Massachusetts.Department: Mental Health Community Services (MHCS)Reports To: VP, Mental Health Community Services or the VP’s DesigneeMission Statement: Bay Cove Human Services partners with people to overcome challenges and realize personal potential.Job Summary:The Per Diem Training Consultant provides in-person and virtual training sessions, which are informed by evidence based practices and recovery-oriented principles. The Per Diem Training Consultant supports Bay Cove’s mission by ensuring that staff are competent in partnering with Persons to reach their individual goals.This is a non-exempt position.Supervisory Responsibilities:NoneEssential Functions of the Position:Develop a thorough understanding of the different MHCS models, the training needs and priorities of the MHCS workforce.Promote training opportunities to all the MHCS workforce in a compelling manner which encourages voluntary participation in staff development anize and conduct train-the-trainer sessions for staff with self-identified interest in the provision of training, demonstrated competency, and approval from their supervisors.Provide direct instruction to staff as needed in formal training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, staff meetings, conferences, and workshops.Utilize recovery-oriented language and principles in all communication and interactions with Persons, colleagues, and collaterals.As assigned, the Per Diem Training Consultant may be tasked to identify, recruit, and coordinate training on selected continuing education topics, apply for continuing education training for LPHAs, and market educational opportunities.Other duties and projects as assigned by the supervisor.Requirements for the Position:Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field required.LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, or other behavioral health category which qualifies as Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts and at least five years post-licensure experience working in mental health services required.Ample experience as a trainer, coach, or training facilitator in social work or human services.At least 5 years of progressive clinical experience in a range of residential, therapeutic & experiential learning and community-based treatment environments required.Minimum of 3 years experience developing and conducting group training.Strong commitment to the right of each Person with mental health challenges to live in community residences, to work in market jobs, and to have access to helpful, adequate, competent, and continuous support and services of their own choosing.Proficient writing and verbal communications skills.Excellent personal organization, attention to detail, and time management skills.Proficiency in word processing and other computer functions using Windows, Word, and Google Email and Apps.Use of personal cellular telephone for work communication.Valid driver's licenseBilingual candidates encouraged to apply, pay differential offered for candidates with fluency in certain essential languages.Utilizes a flexible and responsible work style that meets evolving needs of the agency.Works with integrity and respects the dignity and value of all individuals.Exhibits mission through job knowledge, pride in work role, and advocacy.Promotes diversity and inclusion of all individuals.Works in a collaborative, compassionate manner with stakeholder/ partners.This job description is intended only to provide general guidance.
