Meta is looking for a Director of AI Policy to develop and drive the vision and policy strategies that enable Meta’s mission to build the future of human connection and the technology that makes it possible. The Director will work closely with public policy teams, as well as cross-functional partners across the company, to serve as a bridge of understanding and advocacy between policy and product functions.The Director of AI Policy will be a strategic thinker that anticipates challenges and proactively develops solutions. They will demonstrate an ability to switch between detailed work and high-level strategic thinking. This candidate will have expertise within the AI policy landscape. They will also have an understanding of stakeholders, perspectives in the broader policy community, and be able to understand, influence and promote AI innovation and development in regard to Meta’s products and services.Director, AI Policy ResponsibilitiesIdentify and develop AI policy strategy on specific issues–ranging from go-to-market for product launches to policy advocacy campaigns–from inception to completionEvaluate and provide guidance on the policy implications of AI products, services, and research & developmentBuild capacity for the greater policy team on AI policy issues, informed by technical expertise and experiencePrepare Meta leaders for AI engagements, and also engage with policymakers and influencers in the spaceBridge AI policy and regulatory developments with product needs and business prioritiesAnalyze global policy developments concerning economic and data regulation, consumer protection, AI governance, and other technology issues shaping the AI regulatory landscapeMinimum Qualifications12+ years of experience with economic and data regulation, intellectual property, or other technology law or policy issuesKnowledge of AI regulatory trends and policy debates and their impact and relevance for our industryExperience engaging with policymakers and external policy stakeholders on technology policy issuesDemonstrated skills and experience creating short- and long-form analyses and talking pointsExperience navigating work environments and prioritizing multiple simultaneous projectsExperience creating scalable policy solutions and frameworks for policy teams to use based on knowledge of AI policy environmentPreferred QualificationsJD or Master’s degree or equivalentWorking familiarity with AI legislative frameworks and governance modelsExperience with technology policy or legal issues in multiple regions of the worldFor those who live in or expect to work from California if hired for this position, please click here for additional information.About MetaMeta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
