Location(s):RWE Clean Energy, LLCTo start as soon as possible, full time, permanentFunctional area: Corporate Development / StrategyRemuneration: ExemptReporting to the Environmental & Permitting (E&P) Manager, theSenior Associate,Environmental and Permittingwill support E&P Managers with permitting and environmental studies/compliance for early and late stage development, construction, and operational renewable energy projects.Role Responsibilities:Support with development of environmental study and permitting strategiesAssistance with requests for proposals and review of reports/permit applicationsParticipate in project meetings with development, engineering, operations, legal, and other RWE teamsAssist the E&P Team with project/milestone tracking and schedulingSupport Due Diligence of potential Merger & Acquisition opportunities for wind and solar sitesParticipate in meetings with state and federal resource agenciesParticipate in industry groups focused on environmental/wildlife issues and report activities to the larger teamTravel to project sites to participate in agency meetings, micrositing efforts, etcJob Requirements and Experiences:Bachelors of Science Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in relevant disciplines (biology, environmental sciences, etc)Minimum 5 years of relevant environmental experience in private consulting, independent power producer (IPP), utility generator or the likeExperience with renewable projects is a plusDemonstrated problem solving, negotiating, and oral/written communication skillsKnowledge of environmental/permitting regulations relevant to the development, construction, and operation of complex energy projects including NEPA, ESA, and/or wind/solar wildlife interaction issuesAbility to work independently and organize numerous diverse project responsibilitiesStrong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage customer relationshipsDemonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables spaceExcellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and TeamsStrong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlinesStrong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverablesAbility to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a teamMotivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilitiesProven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgroundsResponds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachableIs detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business conceptsAbility and willingness to travel to and from job sites as assigned (ranging from 20-50%)Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in California is $90,000 - $136,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations.
