The incumbent will execute occupational safety projects from start to finish. The role will routinely involve a blend of (1) workplace / shop floor presence and (2) desktop entry duties.A well-rounded knowledge of general EHS knowledge. This is an entry-level position, so it is not expected the ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in the field. However, a strong willingness to learn is important.Perhaps most importantly, the incumbent will be an energetic self-starter with the ability to work independently and produce results within budget and timeframe.Your Responsibilities as an Apex Occupational Safety Professional :Provid ing comprehensive occupational safety consulting services to clients , including :Conducting shop floor observations focused on identifying, assessing and risk-ranking employee exposures to injury.Devising solution options aimed at mitigating employee injury exposures.Providing clients with hands-on assistance with implementation of chosen injury prevention solutions and initiatives.Monitoring the effectiveness of solutions implemented. Have they stood the test of time?Tracking and analyzing clients’ employee injury experience, looking for trends, common themes, and potential high leverage accident prevention activitiesIn collaboration with Apex project managers, coordinates and executes EHS projects within set organizational procedures and close routine collaboration with the external customer, designs, implements and executes an agreed-to service plan. Monitors and reports progress on plan completion as directed. Works with numerous internal and external stakeholders in the interest of achieving desired overall project velocity.Acts as an advisor to the customer on EHS issues.Works closely with senior level Apex personnel at the same locationProvides input to project managers on status of projects.Benchmarking results utilizing customer assigned benchmarking software.What we a re looking for:Bachelor's degree preferred– science, engineering or related field preferredMinimum 1+ years of experience required, working in the EHS fieldDesirable, but NOT required: Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) professional accreditation, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or Certified Environmental Manager (CEM), or forklift safety training experience.Experience in manufacturing-&-assembly industries / heavy industry settings a plus.Experience in the aerospace and defense or automotive industry a further plus.Possess an extensive knowledge of occupational safety technical subject matter and how to apply it in real-life settings.
