Opportunity Overview CORPORATE TITLE: Vice President OFFICE LOCATION(S): San Francisco JOB FUNCTION: Sales DIVISION: Asset & Wealth Management SALARY RANGE: USD 85,000 - 270,000 ABOUT THIS JOB The Goldman Sachs Private Family Office provides financial counseling and full-service implementation to address the financial complexities of CEOs, founders, private equity principals, and ultra-high net worth individuals and their families. Our clients value having a single point of contact to address their specific planning needs and manage their financial affairs. Our holistic approach incorporates financial planning in several areas such as: consolidated investment review, income tax preparation and planning, estate planning and wealth transfer, employee benefits, risk management, philanthropic planning, and cash management. We are seeking an experienced and skilled Family Office Advisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a single or multi-family office providing comprehensive financial planning and advisory services. IMPACT AND RESPONSIBILITIES Our Impact: The Goldman Sachs Private Family Office is designed to service the firm’s most strategic clients. Our trusted Advisor teams have worked with sophisticated ultra-high net worth clients for more than thirty years. We target a client ratio of 8-12 families per advisor, allowing our teams to dedicate the needed time and resources to each client’s unique financial circumstances to deliver an exceptional client experience. Principal Responsibilities: Manage client relationships and a team of financial planners and analysts in providing high-quality white-glove financial planning and implementation across various areas. Advisory, Coordination, and Administration: Advise, coordinate, and manage relationships across multiple client advisers, including attorneys, accountants, and bankers, to ensure seamless communication and planning integration. Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and review financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements to identify trends and planning opportunities or challenges. Tax Planning and Administration: Develop and implement tax efficiency strategies, ensure compliance, and review client tax returns. Estate and Trust Planning: Collaborate with clients’ attorneys to develop and implement estate plans, ensuring efficient wealth transfer and minimizing estate taxes. Risk Management and Insurance Planning: Assess and manage risk exposure through insurance planning, developing strategies to mitigate risk and protect assets. Liquidity and Cash Flow Planning: Analyze and manage client cash flow to meet financial obligations. Philanthropic Support: Develop and implement charitable giving and foundation strategies for tax-efficient giving and maximizing impact. Investment Tracking and Monitoring: Monitor and analyze portfolios, collaborate with investment managers, and report on alternative investments. Skills & Experience We're Looking For Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. Advanced degree/designation (e.g., MST, MBA, JD, CPA, CFP). Minimum 7 years of experience in financial planning, wealth management, tax, consulting, or a related field. Proven track record working with ultra-high net worth clients. Strong knowledge of financial planning concepts including tax, estate, and investment management. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills. Leadership experience or managing a team. Ability to handle sensitive client information with confidentiality. Salary Range The expected base salary for this position in San Francisco, California, is $85,000 - $270,000. Additional discretionary bonuses may apply for active employees at fiscal year-end.
